We are a casual seafood house that is located right on the dock in the Ventura & Santa Barbara Harbor. You'll find a bustling scene of fisherman, young professionals and sand-sprinkled beach-goers nearly every night of the week at these true-blue waterfront institution. Dungeness crab cocktail, oysters on the half-shell and fried shrimp round out the "small" menu offerings. Fresh fish specials, such as grilled white sea bass from local waters, mahi mahi dusted in Cajun spices and pan-blackened local yellowtail, are highlights on the "long" menu. No matter what, libations are always in order at this locals' favorite gathering place. Everyone is welcome at Brophy's, hope to see you soon.

This place is very loud

The restaurant is upstairs and very loud - seems like a big bar. We had blackened fish & fries and it was very good. The drinks were very nice also.

Love their tuna melts! They must add a little cumin to the mix for an interesting flavor. Beer is good and cold. Service can be a little slow, especially when busy (which is often).

We like Brophy Bros. for its great clam chowder and fresh seafood entrees. I also like their crab cakes when on the menu. It's nice to sit outside on their patio when the weather is good and watch the boats in the marina. It's not expensive and it's a more upscale restaurant than Andrea's across the way which always seems... More

Great place to go for seafood. Can get crowded so go early. They do have elevated outdoor seating with harbor views, but was completely full when we were there.

We regularly eat here when we come to SB. This last visit, the downstairs staff was so accommodating for serving us the upstairs food, since we had a wheelchair. They went out of their way to help us enjoy Brophy Bros wonderful fish and chips/ and chowder! Thank you.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner and the only thing we found outstanding was the view. We sat on the patio overlooking the beautiful harbor and enjoyed the cool breeze, but that was about it. The food wasn't that great. We ordered shrimp scampi, rice pilaf, and a salad and were deeply disappointed. The rice was... More

My fiancé got the salmon and I got the seafood pasta. Other family members got fried shrimp and fish and chips. The food was very good and our server was very helpful and friendly. Most dishes were between $15-$25.

This is a fantastic fun restaurant, perfectly located on the pier where the fishing boats come in, with a bustling atmosphere and jolly buzzing clientele, amazing views of the surroundings including mountains and sea, and a great menu of seafood ranging from good old fashioned fish and chips to more sophisticated dishes. Really funky cocktails in the clam bar downstairs... More

Loud and impersonal, a bit formulaic with bar and wait staff who think they are pretty cool. The food is fine, but the previously renowned Brophy clam chowder from Santa Barbara has become generic. Good fish- go across the parking lot- I guess I can't say the name in this review. Tired, already in the harbor, want to sit down... More

We stopped in with an out-of-town guest for lunch, but the restaurant was so noisy it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation. I realize this both an architecture and design issue, but it made for a very difficult 'catching up' lunch. Anyway, the food was OK -- nothing exciting -- but the noise level was a constant issue....
