Description: On the water's edge in beautiful Ventura Harbor, The Greek at the Harbor...
On the water's edge in beautiful Ventura Harbor, The Greek at the Harbor offers a "dining experience" rather than just a meal. Recently visited by Chef Gordon Ramsay, The Greek has transformed to stepping onto the Island of Santorini with all new decor and menu. Open daily for lunch and dinner. The Greek is a great location for family and business gatherings. Menu selections focus on fresh and local with daily specials. Saganaki flaming cheese is flamed tableside either inside or on waterfront patio tables. The Greek is also family friendly with a kid's menu. Weekend live Greek music, belly dancing, Greek Dancing and Aris' famous Table Dance. The great food and atmosphere is only part of The Greek at the Harbor dining experience. Belly Dancers perform evenings and by arrangement as do the Greek Dancers. The Greek specializes in parties from 20-50 and a variety of group menu selections are available. Inside seating capacity is 150 and patio capacity is 125. Full Bar

Food just average, service good.

Our large group (24) had lunch at the harbor around 1:00. We pre-ordered our lunches from a selection of 3 items, so the service was quite fast. I had the Greek Salad topped with chicken, which was o.k. The salads I usually eat have more olives and feta cheese than this one, but it was still... read more

I really used to like this place. The food was good and authentic. Service was decent. The atmosphere fun and lively. Location of course great. But now.... well, the location is still great. My recent visit on a Saturday afternoon could have been great. Instead we were disappointed on all fronts. The food was mediocre at best. Service virtually non-existent.... More

If you love Greek food, then you will love this place. Great food, service is average, nice views of the harbor. We especially love the sampler/appetizer platters.

We were here to celebrate New Year's eve & our favorite bartender's (Kelsey) last day. We paid for a special dinner $70 a piece, drinks not included. Tip for the night was added in @ $31+, which was expensive...... The first course: appetizer was a small plate which consisted of 4 coconut shrimp (delicious but overly brown) a small portion... Food and service were good to very good. Friendly and efficient. Mezze were all well-prepared, as was the octopus. Try some Greek wines from their nice selection. In the evening, catch the belly dancing show. All in all, everything was enjoyable and tasty. We will return. Recommended.

We always love coming here for the Greek food and wine, Greek music, Greek atmosphere. We've celebrated birthdays, graduations, one funeral, and just plain old week-end getaways from LA at the Greek. It's like a quick trip to Greek islands like Santorini or Mikonos. It's a unique restaurant. Where else can you get Greek food right on a picturesque harbor... More

Our group haf four very large plates. Wish we were staying local to consume the leftovers. The local Greek wine was good. Other CA choices were also good. Good selection for apps and entrees. Great location on the harbor but that's true for many competitors.

The caviar hummus appetizer was disagreeable, and the eggplant appetizer had overbearing amounts of fresh garlic. A grilled fish entree was slightly dry. The "filet mignon souvlakia" was too tough and gristly to have really been filet. Spanakopita arrived late and cold, probably coming from the freezer, so we took it home and had it the next day. The creamy... More

The food was not fancy but it was good. Our waiter was very pleasant and accommodating. He made suggestions for those in my group not familiar with Greek dishes. His suggestions were enjoyed by those he helped. He smiled and checked frequently to see if we needed anything. Greek music was playing in the background. It was just the right... More
