I can't vouch for the rest of the menu, but I was quite happy with the escargot, some bread and a nice red wine. Service was excellent, a very friendly waitress.

We had a most pleasant Friday evening meal here! Convenient parking directly adjacent to the restaurant in the back. Decor very nice. We shared a salad which was fresh and good. I had a shrimp entree which was most savory. Our server was pleasant and helpful. Before we left the proprietor actually came out to greet us which we appreciated.... More

Just off of Main Street in Ventura, 71 Palm is like stepping into a French country restaurant. The menu has a wide selection and the wine list is a good mix of California and French. The Soupe à l’Oignon Gratinée was beautiful to look at and a taste treat. The Ruben sandwich special was juicy and very filling. They also... More

Nothing here would bring us back. $17 for two crab cakes?? Really?!? And cheap plastic chairs if you eat outside on the patio?? The food is good, but not exceptional and NOT worth their absurd prices. We had 2 appetizers, one salad, and one entree. No drinks, and our bill was still $100. Ouch. Service was ok. Food was beautifully... More

My first visit to 71 Palm in Ventura will definitely be my last. The food is mediocre and very overpriced. The service is poor and downright amateur. The owner/chef doesn't know anything about customer service, as I explain below. The best thing about 71 Palm is the semi-charming old house in which it is located -- not a good enough... More

Location is beautiful, restaurant is in a craftsman style home a historic landmark. Food was good but pricy. Not worth the value.

Came here for lunch with my wife. It's quiet, good service, and ok food but nothing that sets them apart. I had the $14 chicken sandwich. I would give them a better review if the prices where more reasonable. I don't feel this restaurant has anything that would bring me back.

We have visited 71 Palm twice in the last two weeks. Both experiences were most enjoyable. Our son previously managed a Santa Barbara seafood restaurant and remarked that the seabass dish he ordered at 71 Palm was the best he had ever tasted. He was also impressed with the oysters Rockefeller. The service was excellent. Having been seated both upstairs... More

71 Palm is probably one of the very best kept secrets in Ventura! Just off Main Street in a lovely Victorian Home with an ocean view patio, and cozy fireplace side tables in the dining room. French / Californian fusion menu includes all the favorites from steamed clams, Kobe Beef Burgers, excellent steaks and seafood served in a comfortable casual... More

We had dinner on a Saturday evening and were seated upstairs. One of the charms of the restaurant is that it is in what was a converted house. That is also one of its downfalls. We were seated upstairs in a room that was small and had about 5 tables. Unfortunately for us, the table next to us was occupied... More
