Good food, good value, good views

After a pleasant stroll along Ventura Pier we picked this place for lunch - and certainly were not disappointed. Freshly prepared food, piping hot, served on paper lined metal dishes. We were staying just next door at the Crowne Plaza and wanted to catch the sunset and get something to eat, so this place was perfect. We were fortunate that it was a Monday night so it wasn't busy and we had the choice of sitting upstairs in the restaurant or ordering at the counter. We chose the counter service... More

We ended up going two nights in a row. First night was upstairs a la carte - the menu seems restrictive when you consider the can cook your fish however you like on the ground floor. Atmosphere was a lot more subdued too. Second night age downstairs. Good food, some portions were large and others not so (shell fish especially).... More

The Happy Hour is a great value! We enjoyed $5.00 cocktails & $3.00 beers. Our cocktails were amazing! The happy hour menu included delicious fish & chips and a platter of oysters. Both plates were generous. The location is perfect...overlooking the ocean. What a wonderful way to spend a late afternoon. Afterwards, we walked on the pleasant boardwalk to our... More

I had the fish and chips (of coarse) and it was some of the best I've had. My son had a salmon burrito and couldn't stop raving about it. Local beer on tap and delicious appetizers. If you haven't been, you gotta try it out.

You can't beat the view on the outside patio of Eric Ericsson's. We have been there several times and always enjoy it. Nice for lunch or happy hour. Good happy hour prices. Food is very good. Service is usually good but we have had a few slow servers.

well things change, and sometimes for the worse. Eric C clearly did need an upgrade but they blew it. they should have stayed their course as a table service dining restaurant and instead took the lead by complementing beach house tacos informal walk up experience. we were expecting a lure fish house experience - table service and fresh fish and... For me it has been hit and miss as far as food quality and service.. It is on Ventura Pier and has wall to wall windows, so the location and view does not get much better.... been there 10 or more times over the past 3 years and about half the time it is great and the other half it... More

The civiche is wonderful!! They have a great happy hour with $2.50 premium draft beers and a great selection of bottled beers. Always look forward to coming here when I'm in Ventura.

Eric Ericsson's use to be a nice restaurant on the pier. I didn't go there frequently but it was a nice place to take out of town guests. Now, the restaurant has Beach House Fish, it's fast casual downstairs with limited table service on the upper deck. The upper deck part has an even more limited menu that's more like... More
