Upbeat busy seafood restaurant with vibrant bar scene, and some really good seafood. We dined on the seafood platters, which were not the usual deep fried stuff, but rather a fresh sauteed platter of scallops, shrimp, oysters and red snapper. I did have to send back my red snapper as it was overcooked, but second time around it was excellent.... More

Lure is one of the better bets for downtown dining in Ventura. It has a lively bar scene, small outdoor seating area and nicely planned indoor table settings for comfortable dining. The way they have it situated is nice because it allows one to observe & feel a part of the action without the dealing with high decibel blah-blah-blah as... More

Vibrant bar scene for socializing, oysters, and small plates. Dining area in back for some privacy and conversation. Calamari appetizer and Sand Dabs entree were both "10"s...

Local Halibut, Rock Fish, and Tequila Shrimp Pasta were all completely consumed because of the amazing tastes. Everything was extremely fresh. We had a great view looking into the kitchen and it was mesmerizing to watch all the employees preparing the meals. I have never seen a cleaner kitchen than this one. Our waiter was awesome, I wish I got... More

Popped in for a bite to eat on our way from LA to SF. This place is seriously good. The food, ambience and service are all top drawer. Special thanks to our waiter David who was a real star. Check this place out!

I never (ever ever) share negative comments unless it was pretty bad. This experience was more surprising, than really bad. My daughter and I had "pre-back-to-school-shopping" lunch here and were surprised by the slow service and poor taste of the food. The reason we were surprised was we eat here several times a month and have enjoyed it everytime. The... More

Had a wonderful late night meal. There was only one other table eating besides us. We ate in the back which was very quiet and nice. Food and wait staff was exceptional. Can't wait to go back. Did eat at the one in Agoura and it didn't compare to Ventura.

Great food, environment & service! Super selection of fish and oysters. Not just a few, but 6 kinds of oysters, east coast and west coast. At least 8 kinds of fish, including Wild Pacific Salmon, served simply grilled, with Two sides. The chopped salad is served in a cabbage leaf, topped wth avocado, yummy. Another delicious, unusual choice is Cilantro... More

Very nice place in the cenetr of Ventura. In spite of being quite crowded the place is not noisy. You can sit either at tables or at the various desk counters. We staid at the Oyster bar. Good selection of oysters and of wines. My friend had a cioppino (a fish soup Caciucco style) and I had fresh grilled seabass... More
