What started as a small oyster truck has now turned into a delicious oyster & clam experience. They added a kitchen and now send out some of the most delicious seafood I've tasted! It's right next to the beach and they offer fun outdoor picnic seating . This is a must visit if you're in the area!

The Jolly Oyster is a real treasure at the State Beach park in Ventura. A wee shack & picnic tables 100 yards from beach dunes. There are BBQ pits so you can barbeque oysters (and/or other items you may choose to bring) and the oysters & clams are amazing. Buy in the shell (they will also shuck for you) to... More

Discovered these food trucks on the bike path as I was heading to the pier. WOW the Kumamoto oysters were the best we had ever had. Fresh and didn't need cocktail sauce, just a little lemon and it was perfect. They have a shuck shack where you can buy in bulk and crack them open yourself. Great place that I... More

Beautiful fresh oysters by the sea. What more do you need? They offer many items, among them oyster tacos in a handmade GMO-free corn tortilla. I love they offer GMO-free but this wasn't my favorite. The flavors didn't quite mesh for me. I'll stick with the oysters raw on the half shell. They were simply perfect. My daughter ordered the... More

I am not necessarily a connoisseur of oysters but I have had oysters up and down the coast with different preparations and this place hands down beats them all (some should just stop serving them). I love to shuck them there they will show you how (they showed me) the Jolly sauce is delicious. The food truck does oyster tacos... More

BYOB and make sure the "hot truck" is there if you want prepared food. It is inside the Ventura St Beach, but the Park Rangers let you in for 20mins free and The Jolly Oyster validates another hour (or more...) They have right next to each other : 1) Shuck Shack- where by health regulations they can only sell you... More

This is a fun place for friends, couples, or family. The location and layout is great. The staff was so helpful and kind. The seafood was fresh and amenities were perfect. You can enjoy cooking for yourself or purchase prepped food. We cooked and used the BBQ for the pacific oysters (we tried both kinds and preferred the pacific for... More

The oysters were smaller than expected, and we were a bit disappointed that the clam chowder they had on the menu wasn't available (they said they hadn't had time to update the menu yet). However, the clam steamers that were recommended did not disappoint, and you should definitely bring some extra bread to soak up the amazing butter, garlic, white... More

At the end of the drive way at a state beach park. Tell the parking attendant you're going to Jolly Oyster and they'll give you a sticker so you won't be charged for parking. Fresh shucked oysters at $24 for one dozen, less if you want to shuck your own, if you do not mind sitting outdoors on at a... More
