The last time I had Nepali /Tibetan food was in a small restaurant in Edinburgh just off the Haymarket Station. Walking into the Himalaya restaurant brought back fond memories of my experience in Edinburgh. The aromas wafting from the kitchen were mouthwatering. The Saag Naan appetizer was one of the best I ever had. My wife selected the Indian chicken... More

Had a large group - most had lived/travelled in Nepal and we all loved it. Just outstanding food. Memos and chili chicken (done mild) were the highlight for me. Sol planned a family style menu and seated us Nepali style on cushions and low tables and had everything ready to go when we arrived. Can't wait to go back -... More

Wanted something different, so, Indian food. Nice interior, greeted nicely. Ordered, and waited. Nobody asked told us that our order was coming soon or anything. Finally it came and it was wonderful. One of the best Indian restaurants we have eaten at. Service is a bit slow, but, have patience. It's worth the wait.

It is not located in a spot where I would think the food was going to be anything more than average. However after my wife came back from Nepal- we made a trip here- and since then several more trips. If you like Indian- then the menu will suit you well- and then there are the other dishes that are... More

We love Himalaya and have to go every 2-3 weeks. Our kids also love this place. It is more than an Indian restaurant, really a mix of several different cultures and cuisines. The pakoras and samosas are delicious, as are the curries and naans. We always order enough to take home leftovers which are a treat. And Sal is a... More

I can't say enough good things about Himalaya! This is my favorite lunch spot, and I visit several times a week. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is second to none. Sal will gladly walk you through the menu, explaining the nuances of each delicacy. The food is spiced to order. The lunch specials are a bargain, and... More

We get take out from here every Sunday night. The Chicken Korma and the Butter Chicken are two of their best - and don't forget the Garlic Naan! The service is outstanding - friendly, helpful, and welcoming every time. I have a high standard for my curry, and they always meet it. We will continue coming back, and bringing our... More

The food is both familiar and unique. And all of it was excellent. It is a unique blend, with both Indian and Chinese influences. You can't go wrong. We had the waiter recommend for us and we were so happy. The dumpings are a must. Go with a group, get a variety and enjoy several dishes. Or, take a lot... More

What a neat place. It is a "hole in the wall' in a strip mall but the food was wonderful. I loved the Chili Momos...were tasty. I had a Tibetan Platter vegetarian style and was pleased. My wife's Tika Masala chicken was a little overcooked but still a nice sauce. The Hot Spicy Naan wasn't very spicy but still had... More

This was one of the first restaurants we visited upon moving to Ventura. I hit the jackpot. I ordered a dish called Madras Coconut curry (I believe that's the name). It was one of the best dishes I've ever had in a restaurant! I've had a lot of ethnic cuisine and really love Indian, Ethiopian, Thai, Vietnamese, etc. This restaurant... More
