Cannot understand why this has been reviewed so favorably. The food is quite ordinary, service decidedly below average, and atmosphere is lacking - unless you like eating in a loud place at very close quarters. I've traveled all over the world and this place was disappointing. So many other places in this great city. I'd skip this one.

I ate at L&J Café for dinner on 9/2/14 on a trip to El Paso for work. This is the 2nd time I've been there and the food was excellent again. They have all of the traditional Mexican favorites you can think of, along with 2 tasty sauces for the chips (with the red being much spicier than the green).... More

We have not been to many mexican restaurant's here in El Paso. This restaurant came up in our search. I had the chicken taco. I would rate the service and food very good for this visit.

A colleague recommend this place to me for some good authentic eats. And boy was it authentic!!! My steak burrito was quite possibly the spiciest thing I've ever eaten, but the atmosphere was fun and back. One of the managers came over and chatted to, and told me some history about the restaurant. Will go back (and be prepared for... More

I've been here a few times. The food is good, not great. The service at the bar is great. Not too loud, Parking sucks. Not a bad place to visit every once in a while...

Decided to check this place out based on its reviews and very happy we did! We were traveling with a four-month-old and decided to give this place a shot. I didn't want to go inside because of how the outside looked (dive bar across from a cemetery complete with neon sign) but once we were inside and we're seated it... More

My family and I love to go there. My nephew who lives in Orlando, Florida has to come and eat here when he visits. He also takes home the some the great red chile salsa!

All the enchildas are awesome. Homemade salsa is authentic and very good and is sold by the jar. They serve as great gifts. Service is wonderful.

This is a little famous dive bar / restaurant next to a cemetery. It has two wings that off shoot of the bar where you can dine. The food and service are tops!!!

Drove 20 hours from Louisiana to go a music festival in El Paso. Service was very slow and the food was not as good as the reviews suggested. Will not return to this place.
