This place was recommended as the best Mexican good in El Paso and a diverse crew was coming in for lunch. It's more bar than restaurant albeit the kind of neon beer sign-filled honky tonk you find in Texas or near Nashville. Next door to the cemetery so tourists can go home and tell tales. The smell of bleach and... More

Went here with family and it was great. Been there from 1927. Looks a bit scary from outside and right next to a cemetery but wow what great food! Had the chile rellanos, great. but go for the stark tacos or the green enchiladas! Killer!!!!

Anything and everything is excellent in this restaurant. You will not go wrong visiting this Iconic restaurant in the border. No parking available. You may have to park couple blocks away, but it is all worth it...every time!!!!

Don't let the outside deter you, the food I ate was awesome. Not expensive and large portions. I've heard the tacos are awesome as well. The place gets packed for lunch so go early or late.

I have been to this place a few times hoping it will get better throughout the years and it's basic Mexican food. It is VERY overrated!!!! Is the food good? It's decent not disgusting but Ive had even better! Yes this restaurant is a very old lasting place in EPT but I also think people come here out of habit... More

When we visit El Paso, we get lunch from here. It is always busy and we have waited on average 10-15 mins the three times we did eat in. One time we were starving and called ahead for a to go order, it was ready when we arrived so we ate in the car out front!! Needless to say, we... More

Can be hard to find. You might be reluctant to walk in because after all it is a local bar. The food is interesting and tasty. The quest is fab. Service was real quick. Drink specials. Always usually busy. Walk around and decide your seating options. Can seem crowded and cramped but I cannot wait for my return visit.

I had asked a person for a recommendation for the "Best" Mexican food in El Paso. The response was immediate "L & J's Cafe!" After receiving this high recommendation, I asked three other folks natives of El Paso. The vote was unanimous! And the best part was... They were all correct!!! The food far exceeded my expectations even with this... More

We came for lunch to find a packed restaurant. People from all walks of life were there, enjoying their meals and the World Cup. The food was pretty good and didn't take to long. I ordered a combo plate and my wife a fajita burrito. The beef taco was sadly mostly lettuce, but the rest of the plate was pretty... More

We were at an event in Dallas and a friend found out we were going to ELP. He asked, "Do you ever eat that that place across from the cemetery?" We said, "L & J? Yes - every time we can!" People may not remember the name, but they always remember the cemetery and the great food served within. I... More
