Authentic Mexican Food

Love the food at L & J. Everything is delicious! The mole enchiladas are outstanding. There is something for everyone. You can't go wrong. Now with their expansion the place is even better. I really enjoyed the environment of this place. Bar area is where it's at -- not so much other rooms where it's more of a bright light restaurant environment. When I walked in, Bruce Springsteen was blasting on the speakers while locals enjoyed massive cheap draft beers and free tortilla chips. What more can I say.

The food was good. My friend had a chicken plate that was smothered, in a great way, with the chili con queso. I think its the bect chili con queso that I have every had...The rest of the food was very tasty also..I had the machaca but it was just shreaded beef, but it was good.

We went here on recommendations from people in the area. From the outside it doesn't look like much and I am not sure about the area after dark but man was it ever delicious! We went for lunch and the place was packed with everything from construction workers to men and women in business suits. The food was excellent, the... More

I have been there twice now on business trips and excellent each time. Comfortable booths away from the bar if you prefer. Lightening fast service on Super Bowl Sunday! Foot authentic and delicious with huge portions..

Yes, it has great green enchiladas and amazing enmoladas. Not to mention the full bar next to a cemetery. This place has a lot of history going back to the prohibition so this restaurant won't have 5-de-mayo-like decor. Great food, interesting history and location, and great service. A must stop in El Paso.

The atmosphere was colorful and we walked past a crowded bar as we were seated at our table. The place was packed and we had to wait about 20 min. and it was worth the wait! A group of 4 and an infant - we all ordered different meals ( I tried all of them) -- all excellent!

This place is a legend in El Paso and usually lives up to its title. It can be hit or miss at times, like the parking. But overall pretty good and it's much bigger now with the expansion which was great news as this place gets packed!!

Waiters happy to welcome you, serve you. Very attentive! Group of Senior athletes had lunch after playing in Senior Games. We waited a few minutes as there was a good crowd. However, this did not affect our service!
