Average BBQ but the ribs were quite tasty. Located at the TX/NM west border and does have good party room and outdoor seating for concerts/dancing.
This place looks much better than the food tastes... The only reason I can fathom for the "Excellent/Very Good" reviews are that the drunks coming out of the adjacent liquor store and Adult video store want under cooked ribs. Save your money and just stay away...
My ribs had a funky citrus taste to them. And at first I thought it was my imagination, but my boyfriend tried a bite and confirmed they definitely had an orange flavor to them. The bbq sauce was very bland, and as soon as we started eating, we jokingly said, "can we go somewhere else?" All joking aside, we weren't... More
Although I live nearby, State Line has become a rare visit for me. Last night's meal included a mass of sour/sweet BBQ sauce, a sour and slightly bitter slaw, and a potato salad that consisted almost entirely of ground pickles, which was very sour and very bitter. We could not eat anything that the potato salad came into contact with,... More
My husband and I went to eat lunch here. The atmosphere was awesome. I really wanted to love this place, but I just thought it was ok. I ordered the 2 meat plate for lunch. I had the baby back ribs and the beef brisket which came with cole slaw, beans, potato salad and homemade bread. The brisket was good,... More
Went there with really high expectations. Had the two meat plate, brisket and pork ribs. The service was fast and friendly. The food was just OK. Neither was very tender and I thought the sauce was lacking. Could be my expectations were set too high, but I have had better at home.
My husband used to travel to El Paso for work and always ate at the Stateline. He used to rave about it. It's been more than 10 years since he'd been there when we passed through El Paso a few weeks ago. He was pleased that it was as good as he remembered. We had the smoked peppered turkey, both... More
One of the best BBQ joints around. We usually come here when we are visiting El Paso. We had 12 people and the service was great, even though they had 2 other parties of 24 and 12 in the same room. We are from KC and this restaurant is right up there with the best.
my combination plate came out smothered with sauce, on the chicken, sausage, brisket, potato salad, beans, and coleslaw. it was disgusting,. the server could have warned me. beans had zero flavor, and the overall experience was a failure. not even worth it at half price!
