There is a lot of hype surrounding this place, and I don't really see why. The food is pretty good, but nothing that I would go crazy for. I had the catfish (not pieces, almost like chicken nuggets - good flavor but weird that it wasn't a whole piece) and the tamales were excellent.

I got invited to go to dinner at Does and was surprised to find out that the Porterhouse steak had been reserved. What an awesome steak. Two of us could barely finish it. Very tender and tasty. Tamales were also great! Very friendly staff.

Doe's Eat Place is my #1 pick for delicious food and friendly service. Every time my husband says," where would you like to go" I immediately say Doe's. It can be expensive depending on what you order, but it is definitely worth it. From the historical & pictorial journey down memory lane, to the black & white floors, Doe's makes... More

My friend had wanted to go here because of the whole Clinton thing. I was glad I tagged along, a great steak, surprisingly good wine ( from a small list) and great fries , what more could you want? It is also super casual which was great for us but may turn some off.

This is probably the least attractive property I have ever visited, but I don't care because it has the best porterhouse steaks I have ever eaten! A little pricey but well worth it. You can't eat one of the steaks without eating a few tamales while you wait. A lot of history is on the walls if you are in... More

Went in with a group, server was awful. Got drink orders and food orders and didn't come back unless walking by to greet another table. We asked for water 4 times, and finally asked another server who kindly got us something to drink-since we never got any refills. The steak is amazing, but have a bad taste in my mouth... More

Well, I got sucked into the whole "Clinton ate here a lot" thing. So we went. Mehhhh. Utterly average food, strange combo of steak and tamales. Not bad food, just completely average, and not very cheap. If you love Clinton pictures, you will like the walls; if you do not like Clinton, you will find it all quite repellant. If... More

As a local I recommend this place for their excellent steaks and tamales... do NOT skip the tamales. It is a dive, not at all a fine dining experience, but don't let that stop you, it has lot's of soul and the service is good. The steaks are cut to order and then cut again for presentation.

Doe's has always been one of my favorite lunch spots, along with the occasional dinner. For folks that didn't know - the restaurant is under new ownership & management and it certainly shows in the food. Food quality is steadily going downhill. Picked up a burger today for lunch that was so salty and dried up, it was pretty much... More
