Description: Ashley's is where Southern tradition meets genuine Midwestern values. It's a New Americana, unspoiled and natural. It's not the Southern biscuits and cornbread of today, but the stuff from which that nostalgia was derived. Dining at Ashley's feels like enjoying a cold glass of iced tea and a comfort meal in your favorite childhood kitchen.

Just an FYI - the Ashley's space has been remodeled and re-opened last Friday as One Eleven at the Capital. They have opened up the entry, added a bar facing the lobby and remodeled the dining room (to the right of the bar) to be better lit, more open and more modern. The bar has a cuvinet type system for... More

I could write an essay on the pathetic and horrible experience my wife and I had here. Briefly, I ordered a Medium Rare filet that was served GREY (well done) in the middle twice. The head waiter (without introducing himself) told my wife and I that the filet was "perfectly" cooked both times and shined a red light onto the... More

Great food and atmosphere. We enjoyed the daily lunch special. Fabulous deserts. Will definitely return.

We eat here often for business and the food, service, and atmosphere are all stellar. The chef is French and does an outstanding job with French food! I highly recommend this restaurant for business, special events, or even company parties.

Ashley's is truly a dining experience. With wait-staff that meets your every need (almost before you have it) you dine slowly, no need to be in a rush. The food is first class. I highly recommend the duck. It is a quiet restaurant and you I really encourage you to ask for a table by the window. The decoration are... More

Let me say the taste and quality of the food fell way behind compared to the price. My mom ordered buckwheat pancakes and the quality has degraded on it since the last time weve been here; the pancakes used to be so decadent but it was below the quality of ihops. My order was the one with various pastries, yogurt... More

We went here before a concert by PTX. The food was fantastic. Service was good. My only complaint was they over charged me for a beer. Once I brought it to my servers attention it was corrected. Food is expensive but great for that special occasion.

I stay at the Capital Hotel frequently and can report that Ashley's served its last meal on Sunday, May 4. The space is being remodeled and there is to be a new restaurant to replace it which I am sure will meet the high standards set by Ashley's.

Let me start by saying that although we are local, we travel a lot and have eaten at wonderful fine dining establishments in major cities in the U.S. and in Europe. And I agree that many American restaurants serve portions that are far, far too large. That said, two out of our party of four were served entrees that were... More

We had a fabulous evening dinner across from the former Peabody hotel where they once would parade ducks thru the lobby in a daily ritual. This ritual is no longer performed, and for dinner we had duck. Hopefully there is no connection. Great service, formal atmosphere, very well plated and presented food. We were a party of three, appetizers, main... More
