Good and affordable food

On our ride into town from the airport our driver said if we want a fish meal, especially catfish flying Fish was the place to go. We went for dinner on a cold and windy night, lucky to be inside at the end the line. We couldn't believe how many people were waiting out in the cold. The line moves... read more

The queue was long. We studied the menu and decor while waiting. We decided to order catfish, oysters and fish tacos. The fish tacos were delicious, the oysters mouthwatering and the catfish ok. We enjoyed a small bottle of rosé and 2beers with the meal. A good experience highly recommendable.

Had the grilled salmon salad. Took forever to get our food and finally had to go check on it and it was later in the evening so it wasn't busy. The salmon was really nice with the spicy cayenne. The salad was served in a big stainless steel mixing bowl. The salad and dressing (Balsamic) were pretty lame. Tomatoes were... More

This is one of my favorite stops when I'm in Little Rock. They have big menu. Love the poboys (oyster, fish, shrimp, more). Also good dark gumbo. They do grilled fish and veggies for those being good. For those who don't care -- fried fish and hushpuppies are tops. Usually a line, but it moves fast. Prices are slightly above... More

I visited the Flying Fish again today. This is one of the most consistent producer of great Southern style fried fish. I have been sampling their product now for more than 10 years and it is still on top of my list in the Little Rock area for fried fish and is hard to beat even statewide. Your meal is... More

We go out of our way every time we travel south to Texas to. Eat at this restaurant. The atmosphere is casual and the food is great. Love the catfish basket with fries and fritters. All kinds of fish prepared as you like it. Plenty of seating inside for small and large groups. Just down the street from the Clinton... More

The Flying Fish is a great spot for lunch. A friend and I went on a rainy Saturday and really enjoyed it! The layout is like casual fast food, and its not really cheap, but the food is good. I always get the catfish and shrimp, and have never had a problem with anything there (and I worked at a... More

This was a great place for Sunday lunch - the garage style doors were open, so we could enjoy eating indoors with the ambiance of being outdoors. We all ordered different items from chicken strips to catfish to oysters and shrimp - even a kid's cheeseburger. We expected the catfish and oysters to be done with a cornmeal based batter,... More
