Great Food Near My Hotel

Not sure what the difference is between this one and the one a few block away, but this was VERY close to my hotel and it seemed like a great spot for dinner. There was no wait and lots of beer choices, given the name. The food was good and it was laidback in there. I can recommend this if... read more

I first visited the House of Brews in 2008 when staying on 46th St. We loved it - who wouldn't like $5 martinis during happy hour? Came back in 2009 - again, excellent. Good beer, good food, good vibes and service. Still loving the $5 martinis! Went back with my husband last September and not so good. The atmosphere was... More

Seriously can't say enough good things about this bar! We were staying close to Times Square and hunted this place down on the first day that we arrived because they had a couple of beers we really wanted to try. It's a 5 minute walk from Times Square, has an excellent beer selection and some awesome IPA's if you're a... More

We stopped here for lunch - we had burgers and buffalo mac n cheese. It was okay but nothing worth trying again.

Great quiet little tavern with friendly staff and a great selection of beers. They have rotating guest drafts and also have a selection of wines and ciders.

Watched the rose bowl here. Good pub food. Good service and good beers. Lots of TV's. Pub is small - only has 10 tables or so but wasn't crowded.

As an Englishman (Yorkshire actually) New York has been a bit of a disappointment on the beer front. Apart from a good pint in the Heartland Brewery below the Empire State on our first visit, New York has been a bit of a desert. Probably my fault for going to the wrong places, so on this occasion time spent on... More

We enjoyed visiting this bar later in the evening for a drink and quiet chat after doing the 'tourist' thing during the day. Luckily we had an apartment just across the road, so handy after staggering out after sampling a few of the many strong ales on offer and copious amounts of Guinness until 4 a.m. The staff were friendly... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
