Sunday Night Dinner

Went there with my family and a friend after seeing a movie up the ave. Waitress was nice, food was good. I had fish and chips. My wife had the cottage pie (hard calling anything without lamb "shepherd's". The service was fast. If you're looking for some food with an Irish accent, then this... read more

We had never heard of the Pig & Whistle chain before. We were impressed with the pubby atmosphere and delicious food. Nice mix of people - some there for dinner, some there for drinks, all there to get out of the snow and have a good time.

Needed a quick bite after the theatre and this was recommended by a hotel staffer. Food was good, service was good and the prices were very fair. Late in the evening this is a bar scene and noise level rises accordingly. Hostess was most gracious in moving us away from the speakers that were right next to the first table... More

Visited Pig 'n' Whistle during a snow storm. Inviting restaurant. Good food but nothing special. It can get busy with the locals taking advantage of the brunch specials one weekends.

An OK place to grab a beer and some food but don't expect anything special. Prices are reasonable. Noisy when crowded.

Was visiting NYC in June with my 16 year old son. We were warmly welcomed, even though this is technically a bar. Ate on the pavement as it was lovely and warm. It was a Sunday night and a bunch of locals in a band were playing irish fiddle music. It really made the atmosphere. The food was good, the... More

Good location on 2nd Avenue. An average Irish pub/restaurant with a limited, but OK menu. You can sit on the ground floor or move to second floor. Mostly local customers, which is a good indication.

Friendly atmosphere and good beer, didnt try the food but what we saw looked very tasty ! The Irish girl that brought the drinks to our table was very friendly and... More

This pub was just round the corner from Pod 51 where we were staying. We dined a few times here. Staff very friendly, high fived by waitress on leaving the first night! Bar food above average and well presented. Our lunch time visit was really good as it wasn't too busy and we got to sit at the bar with... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
