Looking forward to a change in menu offerings around the neighbourhood but came away disappointed. Atmosphere, service and food was very bland. Wanted fried ice cream for dessert and was told there's no chef on a Sunday - who cooked my meal then? Might have been Mr Microwave I suspect. Sorry can't recommend.

Don't believe anyone who says this is the finest Chinese cuisine in Manhattan Go to Chin-Chin if that's what you want. This is in the garment district which is a gastronomic wilderness. No wonder it is full at lunch, there's nowhere else to go. We were there for dinner and it was empty. Our fault for wanting to eat close... More

Chef Yu does a roaring trade Mon-Fri for the business crowd at lunch and dinner; their weekends are quieter and this is the time to take advantage of some of the finest Chinese cuisine in Manhattan. Their tofu is brilliantly cooked and served; their chicken and seafood dishes come alive with taste and zest; their service is fast, friendly and... More

While the service is slow and the servers are a bit disinterested (at least most of them). But still when I'm near Chef Yu's I have to stop in for dinner or lunch. Really good food!

I expected much better food than I received. The happy hour mixed drink was the best part of the meal. The soup bowel was way too big and had a number of items in it that I chose not to eat. A smaller bowel with better items in it would have been better. I can't even remember what my entree... More

I can eat Chinese food everyday, and I have had two excellent meals there. It is extremely well priced, but the service, though efficient is somewhat indifferent. Matt L Charlotte, NC

With reasonably priced restaurants in midtown becoming an endangered species, it's great to rely on Chef Yu. The interior is spacious and bright. It's not gourmet Chinese food but it is plentiful and fresh. I've eaten here several times and never had an MSG reaction. Menu offers all the usual Chinese choices plus noodle dishes including Pad Thai. Really appreciate... More

I like the variety of dishes and the quality (and quantity) of food. The service, however, is another matter. Our waiter was not especially rude, just inattentive.

A beautifully decorated Chinese Restaurant in the heart of NYC. Delicious food with very reasonable prices considering that the portions were huge and location of this restaurant. No need to travel all the way to Chinatown if you are in the area and need a quick Chinese meal. Not many Chinese restaurants in the area so this was a welcome.... More
