Was terrific. But is closed.

Terrific breakfast for the morning after - bloody mary, steak and eggs. Alas now the morning after that. Closed. A great pity.

I've never been disappointed with The Barking Dog - love the vibe and the theme. Food as always been predictably solid, never quite jaw dropping but also never disappointing. Definitely a spot that's on my reliable list of brunch/breakfast places. My only complaints would be that all three times I've been, I've had very unfriendly waitresses and had to wait... More

We stopped in for dessert. Very disappointing. This is NYC - you can do a whole lot better! If the rest of the menu is like this, I'm not sure how they're staying open. The only reason we stopped was because we were staying at the Dumont, next door.

we are staying at the Affinia Dumont Hotel, and decided we wanted a quick dinner at the Barking Dog next door. It was the worst meal we have ever suffered through. We knew there was a problem when we walked through the door to see someone "passed out" on the bar. Upon questioning, we were told the person was a... More

On a recent visit to New York, we stayed at Affinia Dumont. Barking Dog is located right next door. Eight of us met for lunch. Staff was very nice and service was great. The food? not so good. Most of us ordered the turkey burger.. It was very bland and very, very dry. My sister ordered the potato leek soup... More

A place I like to stop in for a meal or a glass of wine. Invite friends (prices are good - for NYC). Staff excellent.

Liked the convenience and the fast service. Food was also very good. It was obviously a neighborhood place and that said a lot for us. We especially liked the eggs benedict.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
