Great atmosphere, lovely food, expensive wine!

The restaurant was very close to where we were staying. Not having booked we got a table for two just before 7pm. We had the brushette to start with the excellent avocado and the confit if onions and garlic (which was fantastic but very garlicky!!). We had a prima pasta which was home made and... read more

i just returned from enjoying an exquisite meal with my daughter. We sat at the chef's counter where we had the added pleasure of watching the hard working chefs create the most gorgeous and delicious food. This place was recommended to me by a local New Yorker who I was talking to in a coffee shop. Thank you whoever you... More

Love it. Sit at the bar and order the octopus - the best around. Great pasta. Small, intimate place that can get a bit crowded but authentic NYC and a great choice.

This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in NYC. The food is always innovative and delicious, and for you night owls, the kitchen is open way later than the curtains on B'way! Plus, the bar gives you a fantastic introduction to Italian wines. Call now.

This was by far the best meal we had in New York. The service was second to none, the maître d overheard my girlfriend was cold and changed the a/c settings without us asking. The food was simply phenomenal, when we passed our compliments to the kitchen they seemed genuinely happy. If you're in the area make sure you go,... More

The restaurant seemed to be booked when I looked from the TableOnline, but we went anyway and a helpful waitress seated us in the back just close to the open kitchen. It was interesting to watch the cooks working on the dishes. The food was delicious, fresh pasta with excellent saves. The wines were paired extremely well with the wines,... More

We wanted a new restaurant to try in NYC so went here on the advice of a friend. We gave up our reserved table for a place at the "cooks bar" so that we could watch the preparation of meals. So happy we did. It was facinating and we tried more than we normally would since we could see it... More

This restaurant was very easy to get to. Located on 8th Avenue within a very short walk of the E-train, 14th Street station. The appetizer of charred Octopus was excellent and our main dishes comprised of Tagliatelle Bolognese and Orzo were flavorful and very tasty. Dessert menu was somewhat limited, but our choices were a good compliment to end dinner.... More

I heard about this restaurant by reading a profile of one of my favorite baseball players. It was mentioned that this is his favorite restaurant in NY to dine in. Since I am a big fan of the team he plays on as well, I wanted to give this place a try. Me and my wife decided to come here... More

Into the City for brunch with friends and a busy day of touring. No better spot to avoid the rain and start off than this cozy Italian spot in the West Village...alert...extremely difficult to find on-street parking, but there is a pay garage on Jane, half a block away. Apparently this restaurant is not open for luncheons during the week,... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
