This little hidden place is just super cool. The food is ok, but it is more the atmosphere and the feeling that this is not something you'll find anywhere.

I still remember my first time at Decibel, a girl took me on a date. Not having explored New York much nor did I spend any time at any Japanese place in years, decibel was an oasis. Over the years I've seen its popularity increases, and nowadays I expect to wait if I go on weekend nights. To my knowledge... More

We came to this place under a suggestion of a friend who'd advise us to go with a "small group". There being 6 of, we decided to go in an were sort of shocked at the decor: written walls, stickets everywhere and a sort of punk, dark ambiance that fits with the place. The bar was small, but since we... More

This is a little hard to find, but well worth it, follow the 'On Air' sign down stairs and enter the graffittied and quirky loveliness that is Decibel. Staff are a suitably odd mixture of night souls, the food is fresh, delicious and very different to your average EV Japanese and the sake list is formidable. You really have to... More

This is an excellent Sake Bar with over 80 types of sake.....The food is overpriced, small dishes and not remarkable. Nice place to drink but not eat.

Although the food is really good, this place is all about the atmosphere and drinks. every time I head to NYC, it's always on the top of my list of places to visit. friendly service, great atmosphere, it does take you into a different world (or maybe that's the sake?!)

I love this place, go back with my girlfriend nearly every time we're in New York. The main thing we love is the atmosphere and cramped little hidden gem feeling the place has. That being said it's very cramped (even for New York) and almost always has a wait for a table (they don't take reservations). The sake list is... More

I go here every time I am in NYC. I love the dark interior and the huge list of sakes. And the raw wasabi octopus dish!! Going down here takes you to a different world, that can be very crammed but it's worth it!

Nice speakeasy vibe here. A lot of fun, but very slow service. 45 minutes for dumplings!!! Problems with the bill. Extra charges. Scrutinize your check carefully don't just blindly pay it.

We went there last night after seeing a play in the village. You walk into the kitchen and you're struck with the combination of great aromas, warmth and harmony. The restaurant was packed with people drinking sake and eating a variety of Japanese food. You feel like you're in a speakeasy. Great ambiance. Be patient, no reservations. Worth the wait... More
