Very pleasant

Good drinks and food, lovely music. Loved the location. The gem session on mondays is a great opportunity to hear various kinds of music

This brunch was recommended by a local in the theater scene. We were very pleased. They had two seatings: 11 & 1. We were at the earlier slot and the small room was less than half full with only about 12 guests total. The food was excellent and so was the service. Tony Middelton sang classic jazz with a couple... More

We attended the first set on a Friday night jazz performance by a musician we are familiar with. We have been to Jazz at Kitano before, and especially liked the former venue on an upper floor, a more intimate and audience-friendly venue than the lower level it currently occupies. We have also enjoyed seeing musicians who frequently play the local... More

I love this place. It is the a classy, eloquent and yet welcoming and casual venue for great jazz in the city. The staff treats you like old friends or family, old friends or family that you actually are happy to see. The "no talking during performances' is rightly enforced. Don't go if the music isn't your primary need. You... More

Nothing special for breakfast but the service is good. The bar hops in the eves and late night the jazz is outstanding.

To be clear-this is a review of the Jazz at Kitano club. I am not reviewing food, or the hotel. This is a great room for jazz--in the wonderful Murray HIll neighborhood. It is very residential, and a bit hard to find-but you will not find a more attentive crowd (or staff, for that matter). The sound and sightlines are... More

Soft, cool, wonderful ambience for a brunch. We had a perfect brunch while enjoying the music. Good food, perfect drinks and elegant service. When you get tired of the big scene, go here and really enjoy. A perfect "feelgoodbrunch"!

The meals (tuna for my wife and mushroom ravioli for me) were very good and the live jazz was excellent. In addition the price, for NYC was very reasonnable.

Beautiful restaurant with attentive staff but was so disappointing. I had read so many reviews about the amazing breakfasts there. My eggs benny were below average and my colleague's sausage and eggs looked like diner sausages that were left over from the day before (at $25 for that, it was outrageous). We really wanted to like it there but poor... More

If you are looking to have a power breakfast or lunch Jazz Restaurant in the Kitano Hotel is great. Prices are reasonable for midtown on Park Ave, and service is great. *2 blocks from Grand Central Terminal

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
