Cozy place with friendly staff

We only stayed for drinks and they were very tasty! Friendly staff in the bar. Cozy brazilian place with good music. Would absolutely recommend it.

Friend and I were walking around Nolita on Elizabeth Street looking for place for dinner and stumbled upon BarBossa. Very small restaurant with Brazilian inspired menu. Greeted by friendly bartender and wait staff. Tables very close together but didn't matter--relatively quiet. Cool decor. Food was excellent! Had tuscan kale as a side and Chicken, mango curry which was so tasty... More

Happened to be walking down the SOHO in NYC on Black Friday and all restaurants were full around 3 PM. Finally went into Bar Bossa, a very small restaurant that was full. We were 5 in the group so I asked anyway about a place and they said go in the back. Sure enough there was just one long table... More

While bopping around Soho and seeking an early dinner, my wife and I discovered this warm little bar/bistro with an intriguing, Brazilian focused menu, tucked along a quiet street. We were greeted by friendly staff and enjoyed a great meal. My wife had the eggplant polenta parmegiana, a sort of hybrid lasagna-polenta dish that was freshly made and very satisfying,... More

Good location to have some drinks at the bar. Nice staff and great ambiance. We only had some drinks, so can't say anything about it.

This is our favorite spot in the city. Great food, great people. It looks tiny up front, but there is another big table in the back. We are there often when in town.

It's a tiny Brazilian place and the food is second to none. Very limited drink selection, but we don't care. Great staff, great atmosphere, great Rice Bolognese Lasagne. That's it - I'll be there tonight.

As Ireland was beaten by Italy in the European Cup, I decided to go with my wife to an Italian bar where they played the match on TV to cheer for Italy when they were playing England. I went to BarBossa (as I was on holidays in NYC). I ordered a couple of drinks and was ready for a good... More

A local recommended this tiny restaurant to us; we loved it. Lots of atmosphere, good intelligent service, delicious food (try the tuna tartare - yummy), good cocktails. The food is Brazilian.

It is best to go to BarBossa before 7p if you want to sit for dinner - the place is quite small and gets crowded fast. It has a relaxed atmo and friendly service. The food and drink menus are very interesting. We started with white sangria (had apples in it - $9/glass) and proceeded with Brazillian Caipirinhas ($6/glass on... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighborhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighborhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighborhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
