Good but HECTIC

Food was good and not too badly priced. Shakes and frozen custards are VERY nice. Only negative is how busy it get. People regularly queue out of the door.

We really enjoyed this restaurant there was a very friendly man as a hostess who was funny attentive and really helpfull in guiding us through the menu! The milkshakes are really tasty and so are the burgers, there is a great variety and at a very reasonable time ... They are definetly much better than other fast food chains! The... More

A slight up scale version of fast food, and an amazing stop off to grab a beer and burger when rushing around New york city.

I was first introduced to Shake Shack back in 2009 and it's now my go-to whenever I'm in NYC. We were prepared to wait, but it wouldn't have been more than twenty minutes and it was absolutely worth it. These cheese on those fries...the peanut butter shake...that juicy burger...heaven!

As much as I hate their long lines, I haven't been disappointed by their burgers and fries. Always hit the spot!

This original location is a take out shack... you could eat your grub at the multiple tables in the park. The line is always long, but the food always delivers. I'm from Socal and I actually like this a lot more than In n Out... too bad they don't have this in the west coast.

Queue's around the corner for this fast food joint. Great burgers and crinkle cut fries, lovely milk shakes too. I had the field mushroom/beef burger combo it was lovely. We went there as we googled best burger joint in New York and it came up.

You must try the bell pepper and bacon. Double Smoke House(?) this is the best burger to try here. The best thing about Shake Shack? ORGANIC! ;)

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
