We arrived late but still got some great meet! This place is a lot of fun and the sides are yummy. We loved the live band in the basement!

Fantastic BBQ. Fairly authentic Texas style BBQ (I took a Texan with me, and he said the BBQ sauce was a little sweeter than he likes, but all-told, it was pretty spot-on in terms of authenic Texas BBQ). Not cheap. expect to spend about $30/per person (give or take).

I'll admit, I doubted that a New York eatery could serve up good barbecue, but Hill Country proved me wrong. The brisket had a great smoke ring and fantastic bark. Loved the spice and smokey flavor in every bite. The turkey was a bit dry but the flavor was great. I was very impressed by both. The mac n cheese... More

Had a really fun evening. Pitches of cocktails and choosing your own meat/ribs from the barbecue's with interesting tasty sides makes for an unusual 'American' dinning experience. Worth a visit, we loved it.

When I think of this place I think they should use the Arby's slogan "We have the MEATS"!!! They have it all from ribs, chicken, brisket ect its all there for the eating! From the moment you enter till the time you get your meal you have a friendly staff helping you. Since this isnt your traditional sit down place... More

If you are in NY & want a taste of Texas then go here. The ambiance is great, specially the live music. So please check out who is performing before booking your table. Also remember to book it in basemement. Try the Krutz links.....amazing. You may want to give the chicken a pass. Choice of drinks is reasonable.

Food was great and Jonathan was very friendly. Line up for meat could be more efficient in busy times.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
