I had hill country last night. I did the sampler: really Good brisket, so-so pork rib, so-so chicken, so-so sausage link. But the sides were the best: collard greens, corn pudding, baked beans. But what's the point of BBQ if sides were great, but meat was so-so.... It's that weird "working class hero" mentality. The fantasy of doing manual work,... More

Wonderful selection of meats and side orders of cole slaw and cucumber salad. What I especially love is the chance to order exactly how many beef ribs I want. There's a wonderful energy in Hill Country. Try the white bread. I am not a bread eater, but the bread is great. Definitely a must stop when you are in this... More

We were four friends who went for lunch. We ordered together and then shared: Ribs, brisket, corn bread, potatoes, mac n cheese. Everything was excellent. I cannot imagine that someone could make a better brisket. The place fills up quite quickly, so would recommend that you go early.

I was there for the Americana Fest After Party. I did not expect the food or the music to be as great as it was. These folks don't mess around when it comes to their BBQ. They ship the wood that cooks the meat all the way from Texas, so in my book, they mean business! For some reason, having... More

Southern BBQ in the big apple. Could not have been a better experience, best brisket outside outside of Austin. I loved the concept and the execution.

Hill Country BBQ is way too expensive, but the place was full when we went for dinner. Market forces at work, I guess. Didn't actually try the food. There are other reasonably priced BBQ joints close by like Dallas BBQ.

My son and I enjoyed the Texas style BBQ food and experience at Hill Country. Great food, friendly and attentive staff rivals some of the best places in Texas -- without the long lines. We'll be back.

great BBQ, great portions, love the combo specials and the a-la-carte options... bring your appetite and expect to eat more than you were expecting... not much of a bar, so you are not inclined to stick around once you are done eating

The place is nice and cozy, the waiters are kind and always available! Pretty interesting the market experience. You pay what you eat; the meat and the cooking are just great! Completely suggested to tourists and locals.
