The meat I tried was great (the brisket and the pork ribs) but throughout my dining experience a lot of the meat options and sides were unavailable. The side dishes / veg dishes appear to be sitting buffet style for a long time which I never find appetizing. I'd much prefer a normal menu offering 1/2 pounds + of meat... More

My husband and I just ate here and it was pretty amazing! Great atmosphere, and the way you get food is very clever!! You are harmed for meat by the weight and you eat off of paper! Great meat!! Was so tasty, well cooked, and the the sides were lush too! Word of warning!! Personally, Share the sides and share... More

Great place, not that classical steakes but very good to get a feeling for local barbeceu in New York. It's also not that expensive and the servide is great. Good selection of meat.

Visited twice on our visit to NYC and both times service and food have been spot on. Would definitely visit again. Good value

Every Tuesday night they have Live Band Karaoke. I'm not usually one for karaoke on stage in front of a bunch of people, but even I've been up there a few times and had a blast. The band is top notch, and the selection is mostly classic rock and blues, though with a few modern pop songs thrown in for... More

Great restaurant with a unique way of ordering your food. There are different counters where you order your meats and sides. Meat is priced by the pound, so be careful you don't order too much. They do show you ahead of time what a typical portion is, so you have a good idea of how much to order. The moist... More

I was over charged. $180 for a Bill that should have been $220. Please check your bills. Not even an apology. Moreover the food was mediocre at best. The brisket was 90% fat. Please avoid. Worst experience I have had in years.

We came into the city to see a play & my husband wanted ribs - so he just googled BBQ in NYC. Hill Country was within the 1st 10 selections & the 1st one that was closest to where we need to go for the play. Just the smell of the meats cooking, when you walk in the place -... More

We've heard of Hill Country from friends in DC. It was near our hotel, so we thought we'd try it. We were seated without a reservation on a Friday night around 5:30 pm with the proviso that the restaurant needed the table by 6:30 - which should be no problem as long as we got our food promptly. Well, that's... More

Really good lean brisket, Mac and cheese and green bean casserole. A bit salty but ok. Good price also
