We had the spare ribs and prime ribs which were EXCELLENT, and the briskets (that didn't blow our minds, they were a bit dry). Everything looked tempting though, even lean meats like chicken. The cornbread was out of this world and so was the Mac and cheese. I d be in trouble if I lived around the area... Great place!

Defenitely different from every other restaurant experience we tried in NYC. You sit down, then they ask you to go to the barbecue and choose and order your meats and sides by desired amount. We ended up ordering too much- our eyes are bigger than our stomach all the times-but the BBQ meats were all excellent-try the Brisket! Very very... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Hill Country. Fine dining it is not, but it is a great fun , authentic BBQ joint. The moist brisket was full of flavour and I paired this with some of the hot links and pork belly whilst my wife had the chicken. The sides were tasty and plentiful and we even enjoyed... More

Amazing. Huge roller smoker on show. Order meat by weight. One of my best dining experiences, different to anything else and THE most tender piece of brisket i have ever tasted. Don't eat to much because you will want to party downstairs soon as you have finished!! The best in NYC

Admittedly am English (!) but have widely eaten BBQ food across the States and UK and this is one of the best - lovely moist brisket, flavoursome bbq sauce and delicious Texas hot links and ribs - and good portion sizes. Well worth a visit - and very reasonably priced for NYC.

Hands down our favorite bbq spot in NYC. We had the chicken, pork belly, brisket, and pork rib: all moist and delicious. Sides: corn muffins- fantastic. Collard greens, mac and cheese and cucumber salad: all were great. The highlight of dinner was the unbelievable dessert. We had the sweet potato bread pudding, brownie (UNREAL) and special cupcake (pb & j).... More

Interesting that after reading all the reviews about how good the brisket is I didn't like mine. It might be have a off night. The brisket was dry and not flavorful. The japelano sausage was my favorite item. The green beans and sweet potatoes were good.

As I said, Moist.. Tender.. and Delicious.. Brisket!! Chicken, Ribs and Pork Loin also perfect. Love this place. We normally expect a bit more salads to accompany BBQ dishes in europe, but not something to expect in the US :) Coleslaw will do the trick here..

Coming from the UK, I had to savour this place and check out the stuff we hear about on Man Vs Food - I was not disappointed. I had the Pitmaster and the Brisket was just devine - smoke ring running through it... gorgeous. Definately recommend!

The food was as good as my family would fix in Louisiana or Texas!! Gimicky way to order; line up and place order and the servers mark your items on a chit. Not a big draw but maybe it keeps the prices down by not requiring a lot of servers. And the servers were very pleasant but hard to find... More
