Excellent Service and credible seafood

Everything is just about as one would expect, though the friendlier than usual service from a native Pittsburgher now transplanted to New York was unexpected. Nothing to complain about and the food was quite good.

Went here following a recommendation and we were glad we did. We went on a Thursday night and made a reservation in advance (and were glad that we had done as it got busy). We shared a starter (tuna both seared and sashimi), and then had blackened tilapia special and the scallops. All of which were delicious, perfectly cooked. We... More

Arrival: we were asked if we had reservations - we did not - we arrived on a raining Friday night. Service: - Waited a few minutes beyond normal for a waiter - once he arrived he was great. - Waiter offered suggestions that were great - Did not have to wait long for refills - Service gets a thumbs up... This was our third visit to McCormick & Schmick's. We discovered it two years ago while visiting Philadelphia. Then last year we came upon it while walking in New York. Both visits were wonderful dining experiences. So, of course, we had to return this year when we visited New York. Simply put, it a dining establishment one should include while... More

Super noisy but great service. The fried shrimp batter was a little under cooked and the ahi tuna was flavorless and discolored. The crab soup was good (the dish had soup all over it) and the clam soup was also very nice. The hostess was fantastic and so was the manager. She took the ahi off our bill and was... More

A very good selection of high quality seafood near Rockefeller Center. Service was excellent. Part of restaurant is noisy, but we were in an enclosed quite seating for 4 that was lovely. Deserts were very good. Portions were large. One f better seafood values for the dollar in midtown

Where to eat in NYC is always confusing for visitors unfamiliar with the city. My wife and I have dined at McCormick and Schmick in several cities and have never been disappointed yet. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and the prices are reasonable for fine dining. We didn't feel rushed... More

The McCormick & Schmick's restaurant is very well located on Avenue of the Americas. The menu was a bit limited in choices but we chose the pan seared scallops, which were excellently prepared. The service was very nice, not rushed, and the waiter allowed us extra time to relax and enjoy our dinner while he returned to serve us at... More

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
