On our trip to the States recently we were amazed at the general lack of quality in New York when it came to finding coffee shops or somewhere to have a quick snack. But we found a couple of little gems and this was one of them, very welcome for the family after trudging round various sights all morning! It's...

We visit Amy's Bread in the Hell's Kitchen area of the city every time we come to NYC. They have fabulous scones, muffins, cupcakes and cookies at very good prices. There are some tables in the back area of the store but they fill up fast. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but hope to in the future. I highly...

Amy's Bread has a delicious assortment of breads, cakes and cookies. The yellow cake with pink butter cream frosting is absolutely divine! You will be impressed! I wish I had a slice of it right now!
We visited Amy's bread several times during our stay in New York. Their croissants, olive bread and most others are delicious and fresh. Their coffee is excellent too. The place is small and always busy. It is hard to find a free table in the morning, but one can have take away or wait for a table to be available.
Our first stop in NYC was at Amy's Bread. Early afternoon after a 3 hour flight and we needed a snack to hold us until dinner. Perfect! A nice pizza slice and a generous sandwich did the trick for about ten bucks. Not much atmosphere other than people watching but the food was great.
Every baked piece looks incredibly delicious, and as far as I tasted, it is! Oat cranberry scon was amazing. I ordered a Manhattan breakfast and loved it. Will try to come back and taste the muffins and cookies.
The sticky bun is to die for. Many people told me I have to go.Word of mouth is the best way to find an awesome restaurant.I finally caved in and went.I enjoyed my time there and will return on my next trip. Thanks Brigitte Grisanti New York Food Traveler
My wife insisted that we travel to Amy's Bread after seeing it featured on Rachael Ray's show. We tried the New York Grilled Cheese sandwiches (Cheddar, tomato, cilantro, tomato sauce?). Loaded with flavor and absolutely delicious. We both had chips and I had their fresh lemonade (which was also good). We went elsewhere for dessert (Chelsea Market is a big...

Very good bakery. But i tried only bread, no sweets or sandwiches. Looks like coffee is good - a lot of people were coming just for it. Good luck :)
