If you are looking for a reasonably priced breakfast in the neighborhood, great place

We had the Parisian breakfast--what they call a tartine in Paris--baguette with butter and jam with, in our case, English breakfast tea. Baguette was fresh(they will toast it for you, if you like), tea was excellent--real boiling water and good tea. Many things in the case looked good, including... read more

Very good coffee! Tried the Irish Soda Bread and Cinnamon Raisin Scones. Wonderful breakfast, just hit the spot! Nice little seating area in the back. Enjoyed our breakfast!

Amy's bread has been a family favorite for years. Even though the name might sounds deceiving, Amy's Bread is really a bakery for all occasions, cranking out some of the best cakes, cupcakes and pastries in the city. We've long loved the chocolate cake with vanilla frosting here...they get it just right. Super-fudgy and moist (nearly too much so) and... More

We visited while our laundry was going through the machine at the laundry Cafe. They recommended it. The coffee was the best I've had in the US on this trip and apparently the hot chocolate is the best too. We had the pumpernickel twist and the organic wheat twist. Both were great. The staff were direct but extremely pleasant. ("mamm,... More

No matter why we are in the city, Amy's is a must stop. Call in the morning if you want to be sure to get the bread you love. We mostly get the French Milk Bread and the Walnut Raisin, sometimes the Brioche. All are unbelievable! When they have it I also get the pink buttercream cake. It is about... More

Stopped in here between our matinee and evening show to get a little pick me up. I got a cup of coffee and the coconut caramel bar. So good! But the real show stopper was the Cashew Bar which seriously was probably the best dessert I've tasted in awhile! Loved this little place.

We got bread twice here during our week in NYC; it's excellent stuff. On our first trip we also tried a black and white cookie and a sourdough chocolate twist. The twist was delicious. We were underwhelmed by the cookie but had bought it on a whim to try this New York classic. We returned later in our trip to... More

Had to visit twice for breakfast during my short trip to NYC. My croissant was heavenly and my latte was delicious. Go early and worth the wait.

We first visited Amy's around 10AM and the line was out the door. We managed to get some croissants, one scone and a couple cups of coffee. The food was so amazing we were hooked!! Day two we went back to Amy's and arrived earlier in the morning and scored sticky buns, cinnamon challah knots, and cinnamon walnut scones, along... More

We stopped in for an early lunch upon arrival in the city, after the hotel clerk recommended it. A little confusing upon entering because there is no menu posted. We must have arrived before they put signs up on the sandwich case indicating the types. But there was one clerk who was very nice and even pulled out a salmon... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
