Get Up Early For Those Sticky Buns!

We first visited Amy's around 10AM and the line was out the door. We managed to get some croissants, one scone and a couple cups of coffee. The food was so amazing we were hooked!! Day two we went back to Amy's and arrived earlier in the morning and scored sticky buns, cinnamon challah knots... read more

We stopped in for an early lunch upon arrival in the city, after the hotel clerk recommended it. A little confusing upon entering because there is no menu posted. We must have arrived before they put signs up on the sandwich case indicating the types. But there was one clerk who was very nice and even pulled out a salmon... More

Finally able to sample on our last morning in town. Parisian Breakfast pleased other family member. Many delicious looking baked items and large b/w cookies - hard to choose. Since it was late AM chose a ham and cheese croissant that looked fluffy until oops the counter staff put in in a panini? press. Delivered to the table very greasy... More

Visited as part of a food tour. Had a chocolate sourdough twist which was just divine. There's space for you to eat in our take out. They do savoury sandwiches etc. as well as sweet bakery stuff.

We vowed not to go daily like we did last trip, but ended up making three trips to get dessert. Our favorite is the butterscotch cashew bar, but the coconut chocolate chip dream bar is a close second. Wonderful breads and sandwiches, too.

Another stop on my cupcake tour of NYC. Certainly did not disappoint! Was difficult to choose what to have so ended up with a few things. Washed them all down with a lovely cup of tea. Cute little tables inside!

Passing by Amy's Bread, one of the first things I notice is a line streaming out the door: that is a good sign, these people know something! I was also enticed to enter by the delicious looking pizza I saw displayed in the window. So I ignored the ample sweets in the display cases, and went for savory with a... More

Great bakery with a ton of homemade bread and treats to choose from. We picked up some delicious croissants that were meant to be breakfast the next day in our hotel, don't think they made it that far. Muffins and cookies are very big (their oatmeal raisin cookie is a meal in itself). And they actually make a great cup... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
