Great meal, nice setting

Went with some friends on a Wednesday night. Its a small tight space, like most places in New York, but very lovely and a nice atmosphere. Not too loud. The menu wasn't huge, but everything was tasty. I got the scallops, delicious, a friend got the lasagna, amazing. For an italian restaurant... read more

We stopped by for a nightcap every night after wandering in our first night. Sorry I can't say anything about the food, but the atmosphere was homey-but-smart and the bartender treated us well.

Started well with tuna carpaccio and the braised mushrooms. Mains - good cod slightly overdone and scallops in watery sauce (no spoon). Desserts poor - bland generic and frankly brownie overcooked. Dessert wine a bit meh. Other wine good but not awesome. Service a bit hit n miss! Mostly pretty good but probably overpriced and overhyped - average for the... More

Our brunch was a sad sack of non stop Blah punctuated only by ineptitude The pastry basket was utterly stale. Some of the food was totally undercooked even when we had initially asked for well done & even after we sent it back. The frittata had a pathetic square slice of grocery store brand cheese melted on top. We had... More

The ambiance, service and food at The House all seem to come together to make for a superb evening. The three floors help to spread out the dinners so the noise level never gets too high. All there are extremely friendly and the experience leaves you wanting to come back again. Which is exactly what we did.

I went with my boyfriend, my cousin, and his wife to The House for my birthday dinner and it was fantastic. For appetizer, we shared the Mac & Cheese, and the entrees and desserts were fantastic. Highlights include their Lasagna, Lamb dish, and their Apricot & Blueberry crumb cake. Great place for a special occasion!

Our party of 4 had a relaxing brunch at this intimate & charming restaurant. The fireplace on the first floor added to this refurbished carriage house's ambiance. The restaurant was a short walk from our union square hotel. Service was excellent & we all enjoyed our entrees & cocktails. I had an asparagus salad that was topped with a sunny... More

I took my team here for lunch today and it was the first time for all of us. We were delightfully surprised. It's such a charming restaurant and the prix fixe lunch menu was superb. We all kept saying how amazing the food was and how we will definitely be back for lunch or happy hour/dinner very soon. Service was... More

Had the tuna and scallops and the meal was great. Not too expensive although drinks were pretty expensive. Will go back again as pretty enjoyable.

I highly recommend the deviled egg sampler, I actually had to bring my husband back the following day so that he could try them (he had meetings the day I stumbled across this quaint little spot). All of our brunch food was stellar. We sat at the bar as we did not have reservations. Call ahead to reserve a seat... More
