Good Food Friendly Service

Everything was delicious. We had pizza, chicken in lemon sauce and the skirt steak which was especially tender and tasty.

Been coming to this gorgeous neighbourhood restaurant every time we visit New York from London. I made a reservation for 4 on Opentable for new years eve months in advance. When we arrived we were welcomed back by the manageress who told us she didn't have a table in the main part of the cosy restaurant with all the other... More

Took my daughter to dinner after moving her into her apartment..what a great spot! Delicious food, dark and mysterious vibe, terrific service and not expensive! I would highly recommend this local eatery!

This looks like a small business restaurant; food tasted great, fairly priced. Personnel was professional and accomodating (we are a little bit complicated at restaurants...). Good wine selection for a small restaurant, again, fairly priced. One little thing: we were "offered" coffe and it showed up on the menu. But this detail will not impede me from strongly recommending Max.

Perfect for our girls day out in NYC. It's very cute inside and staff are really nice. We recharged phones over lunch. I had the frisée chicken salad with avocado and apple and lemon dressing - amazing. My friend had the caprese sandwich and also loved it. Would go back!

In tribeca with the food I enjoy. Humble food done well. Fettuccine with maxs meat sauce is a great example. Superb for kids too, just ask for the kids size.

A friend recommended Max's in Tribecca and it was delicious and only like $11 bucks for a filling, home made pasta dish. The spaghetti itself was definately home made and the lamb ragu sauce was unreal and complex in flavor. Really a diamond in the rough. A no brainer if you want top quality fresh pasta and at a reasonable... More

We were out walking today and just happened to stumble across this. I had the best mushroom pizza ever!! My husband had the most delicious pasta with meatballs. The staff was great and friendly. The mushroom pizza wasn't actually on the menu but they happily made it for me. Great price point especially for New York. What a great find!

Max is small. It's a long narrow space with a few tables in a window in front of the bar, some tables on the ground floor and a few more on a raised loft. The food is homey and always good. They made me remember why I like pan seared cod fish. There are some staple menu items like Mom's... More

If porcini ravioli is something you would ever consider ordering, then order that at Max. Between me and my boyfriend we have gotten it dozens of times. Delicious. The beet and goat cheese salad is great. Other pastas and various items on the specials menu that I've had were very good. Anchovies can be a bit too salty, but I... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
