The cab shot right past it -- it is not very prominent from the street, especially at night. This is a very small restaurant. We made a reservation and were shown right to our table. Service was very pleasant and prompt. The appetizers were an interesting mix. I enjoyed my wife's crostino -- toast with pate. It was excellent. My... More

I recently had two bad experiences here. During the first one, my friend asked for a little more sauce for his pasta because there wasn't enough on it. The server brought a little more sauce and surprised us with an additional charge for it on our bill. The manager refused to remove the charge. Stupidly, I went back for dinner... More

Poor management. They mishandled our reservation, then were unapologetic... rude, really. The food is average, at best. There are too many good restaurant in the area, and life is too short, to go here.

Very small place but with delicious food, better with friends or couple, for family is too small. Lasagna to share is fantastic. Great TriBeCa area

If you're looking for great, affordable, Tuscan food in Tribeca, walk 1/2 block off Greenwich (away from all the kitschy Italian places) to Max, on Duane St. Attentive waitstaff and an innovative menu makes Max an outstanding find.

Good pizza and pasta for the price and quaint brick wine bar interior. One of our dishes came out incorrect and took a little too long to return but overall the experience was good.

A group of us visited this place over Memorial Day weekend. We had a reservation, thankfully, as they only have about a dozen or so tables. Service was very attentive, despite the waitress having most of the upstairs section. Their menu is fairly traditional. I see from other reviews a mixed bag. Some people really like the place some don't.... More

This small, cozy space makes the best use of the space. The food was amazing Italian fare. I had the lemmon chicken with capers and mashed potatoes. it was delicious!

Neighborhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
