My wife and sat at the bar to have a beer. It is an old-fashioned bar with a very warm atmosphere and the people are super friendly. The service is great too. We decided to order dinner. My wife ordered linguini with clam sauce which she said was the best she'd had in a long time. I had the homemade... More

Had dinner here with kids. Food was good. Full service bar. Definitely s great family restaurant. There were 7 of us and they were kind enough to bring the youngest child her food when it was ready so so did not have to wait for the adults.

OK, here goes. We passed this place several times coming home from Rock Bar. We went there this evening for dinner. WHAT A MISTAKE! Now, I have given about 32 one star ratings out of 175+ reviews, this is my first no star rating, but Yelp! won't let you do that. I read the reviews here which made me decide... More

Was quite late on a Saturday evening, and I just wandered in with fingers crossed. I was seated promptly and ordered the home made lasagna and a glass of wine. It was delicious. Service was attentive, the premises were clean, and prices reasonable for NYC. I would not hesitate to return.

Locals rave about this place & after a visit I can see why. This is an authentic old time Italian that wouldn't be out of place in Rome. The lasagne was probably the best I've ever tasted & that's after a few trips to Italy! Completely unpretentious with a great wine list ( that doesn't have the usual restaurant mark... More

Gaetana's was actually a nice place to go for a meal. Very welcoming crew, cozy restaurant. The pasta (w/ homemade meatballs) was excellent. Wines by the glass are adequate. The starter salad I had (Caprese) had great mozzarella di bufala, but the tomatoes were cold (you keep them in the fridge?!) and unripe, and it had parsley in lieu of... More

When I first called the restaurant to make a reservation, I spoke to Frankie, the owner. Right off the bat, his tone was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, I was running late, but called ahead. Frankie answered again and was understanding. When I got there with my friend, I thought the atmosphere was great. We really lucked out that night as... More

Amazing service, wonderful food in generous portions and the biggest canoli I've ever seen! This place is a total gem with decent prices for the area. Definitely worth a return.

We stumbled on Gaetana's quite by accident. My first visit to the Village and we needed to eat. Strolling down Christopher Street we found this quaint looking Italian restaurant right on the corner. Peering through the windows we thought it looked interesting and after checking out the menu, we went in. On the right is a long bar and the... More
