Description: Thai Select seeks to thrill the New York epicure with Thai that's global, fresh and fun. Located in the midtown-west area of Manhattan, Thai Select offers healthy, modern Thai cuisine with worldly flare. Although the signature taste remains authentic Thai in flavor, the presentation might be a bit French in aesthetics, a bit Italian in portion and a bit Japanese in simplicity. With dishes like Kee Mao Fettuccini (made with whole wheat pasta) and Fruit Fried Rice (stir-fried with seasonal fruits), Thai Crabcake (encrusted to perfection) and Coconut Puff Martini (jumbo shrimp hand-battered in coconut strips), the kitchen selects only the very best dishes in Thai cuisine and only the freshest of ingredients picked from the farmer's market for our patrons; hence the name, Thai Select.

Nice place with lovely ambiance and not far from Penn Station. I had the Jumbo Shrimp Mieng - dish of jumbo shrimp, topped with roast peanuts, shallots, ginger, a ton of toasted coconut, lime and Northern herbs mieng sauce. Delicious. My companion had a beautifully cooked (and ample) piece of salmon nestled on top of noodles and mango and veg.

The restaurant is quite and the atmosphere is nice... But the food is not excellent... The fish didn't smelled fresh and the rice were too cooked.... Better to find out something else....

We stopped in for lunch around 2:30 and it was pretty quiet but the decor was great. Ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. It was good.

Great food and excellent price. The service was very good too. We went 6 people and drink beers and mojito and paid only $216 with the Tip. The service and the attention beautiful.

Our hotel recommended this place and we loved it. It was the first place we ate when we arrived in NYC and if there weren't so many other places to try, we would have been back. We had Chicken Pad Thai. Inexpensive for what you get. Great $3 beers! Not over the top friendly wait staff, but totally fine. Would... More

Suggested for dinner in the middle of the week with friends. Food is nice and the menu is rich, Pad Thai noodles are a specialty of the house, i the ones with crab and shrimps are really worth. fried rice is properly cooked and from the list of the starters I do suggest the crab croquettes. Level of service is... More

The interior looked great so we had a good feeling. Very dissapointed when the food came in, tasted old. Good prices but I would not go there ever again.

I am staying in the midtown area and was in the mood for Thai food. This place was on top of the list in this area so I walked a couple blocks to track it down. Note be careful there are two Thai restaurants between W 36th and W 37th street so make sure you go into the right one.... More
