Nice Surprise!

Close to my hotel, love the ambiance, decor and service. Even the food was good. Nice bar also. Would come here again.

We really enjoyed our dinner. The athmosphere was great, everybody (including children) fancied their meal a lot, we where well served even when a glass was spilled and the bill was very reasonable for central NYC. Recommended!

Service was one of the best I've experienced in NYC. Very attentive and quick with the food delivery. Despite the long wait times for outdoor seating I found the food to be ok. I ordered the shrimp and pancetta, pancetta and prosciutto bolognese and the bream fish with crabmeat. All were decent but not overly flavorful as it could have... More

Lunch review Lunch here was a delight with unexpected specials and attentive service. The place is HUGE and I suspect that dinner takes on a higher buzz than the relaxed dining at lunch. The Mozzarella Fior Di Latte (mozzarella wrapped in spec and baked was something I've not seen outside Italy (and missed) going back just for this...(oh, the bread... More

Sensible portion sizes, reasonable cost. And a fantastic grilled octopus starter for $12. Worth searching out.

My friend and I visited il bastardo twice , the service is ok and the menu is just ok , I love Italian food but nothing there jumped out as an "I want that " meal . If you want a good cold beer forget it ! All they have is Peroni, which is a good Italian beer but if... More

I and my partner were visitors in New York City and in about two weeks time we tried this restaurant three times. I have to admit each time we were very much satisfied with the level of hospitality, the rich menu and the taste of the good and affordable food. My favourite dish was Strozzapreti Papa Francesco, a homemade pasta... More

We went there for a late afternoon brunch to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday. Great if you love loud pounding music where you can't hear anyone speak. Great if you love to party. Food was horrible. Scrambled eggs were watery and steak was over cooked and dried out. Not worth the $50 paid that included a poorly made Bloody... More

We ate here with friends during our recent visit to New York and the food was incredible. We got a selection of starters and shared them, every single one of them was delicious especially the shrimp and the eggplant. The restaurant itself is right in Chelsea in an area full of hip little restaurants and bars. The staff in the... More

We passed by this restaurant that was a lot bigger inside than it looks. Had a nice sized bar and plenty of tables. It was clear they wanted us to have a big check, but we just wanted a bit to eat. Waitress was pleasant, water glasses were kept filled and they were very attentive - despite our 50$ bill.... More
