Repeatedly Fresh Sushi!

We use Amber as our go to for sushi take out, and just recently we decided to dine in for a change, choosing different options from the menu. The raw seafood options - the tuna, the hamachi, the sashimi - were all incredibly fresh and melt in your mouth soft. The sushi options were fresh as... read more

We ordered Sushi for our family. Friendly staff, good choice, very fresh and delivered quickly. Quite pricey but in keeping with the location and quality. Will definitely return.

This review is for Amber on Columbus (not 3rd Ave). Net; we both thought the food was average. Nothing special. Granted neither of us had sushi, but the various fish & chicken dishes we had did not 'stand out'. The best part of our meal was the street-view (so; suggest that you sit by the window), and the friendly and... More

Regardless of which you choose, lunch or dinner, the food is always absolutely delicious and fresh. during the day I would suggest eating at the bar where they have frozen green tea margaritas, and a nice view through the windows. After 7 p.m. Or so it turns into a more crowded fun scene with the sound of sake bombs all... More

We scouted the neighborhood to find a good spectator spot for my daughter's marathon and since we never in this city , we just asked a local person on the street. It is a very clean, good ambiance, and large portion specialty dishes and fresh tasting sushi. Friendly servers and prompt service. I would go back.

We walked past Amber one Sunday and decided to give it a go for Sunday Brunch. They have several brunch specials on offer, but we were just after sushi. The true test for me is always in the sashimi, and the salmon sashimi we had that day was spot on - melt in your mouth soft and fresh. We had... More

I used to be a regular. At least twice a week. Last night I ordered a sashimi de lux. I was charged $4 for another bowl of rice. When confronted, the manager could not be more confrontational. Last time there.

... but other dishes are great too, as well as the ambiance and the service. I don't know about the Japanese beer, but one of my friends appreciates it. We loved the place, give it a try.

We live in the neighborhood and frequently dined here … until today's awful experience. As "regulars," we had an Amber card that accrued dining points. When we presented it today, the waiter told us that the restaurant no longer offers this promotion. I asked to speak to the manager; each time the waiter left us to speak to someone, came... More

I frequent this place quite often with my family and friends. Food is presented nicely and pretty good. Drinks are presented nicely too, but a bit weak. The Duck main course was tasty, overfried, and a bit sparce of Duck; a bit disappointing. One time I went, the waiter forgot to returna friend's credit card to the table and not... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
