Decent, but you can do better

I'm a fan of steakhouses, so I was looking forward to trying this one I'd never eaten in before I went to see a show at the Garden. Overall, the meal was decent, but you can definitely do better if you're looking for a good steak dinner. We ordered the porterhouse for two and it was tasty... read more

If you are in New York City do yourself a favour and have a meal here. The steaks are great for the price. Perfect amount on the plate and the service was great. Can not fault anything here.

The stake was ok - but could not in anyway justify 134 $ (for three persons) + 20 % gratitude! The cuttage fries were good, the creamed spinach was also ok. I could make the food as good as this in 10-15 minutes in the kitchen. The waiter came with another much more expensive wine then the one I ordered... More

Group of six on a Friday evening. Wonderful service; sparse crowd. Pretty pricy, but well worth it. Everything we ordered was great, and the service was outstanding!

Staghorn's quality is already legendary but it is good to see that they keep up with their reputation. We had a 22 oz Porterhouse perfectly made to our specific request. The waiters are attentive, and always looking after the diners comfort. Their prices may sound costly but they are not expensive for the quality you get. Highly recommendable.

Enjoyed dinner the other night with a client and staff member. The owner gave us antipasto appetizer and we ordered the porterhouse steak for 3. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sides of potatoes and spinach were wonderful. I could see how people may think the waiters are not friendly as they are far and and hustle very fast... More

We wanted a nice place to go to for our last meal in New York. The Restaurant looked nice decor great. We were really disappointed with the level of service. They didn't stick to the same waiter for the table so the service (considering the restaurant was empty) was slow. The Main meals finally came out but without the side... More

Great steaks , charismatic owner , really good time. Very good wines in a great price bracket. Need to do go again. My kind of venue . Exciting!

I stayed at the Wyndham TRYP hotel and this was the best up-scale restaurant I found. LUNCH was good value: it is an unpretentious place with straightforward (very carnivore!) menu and I had excellent value - MUCH better value than my previous evening's dinner at the hotel. Service was very good. Quite a few businessmen in evidence during my lunch... More

Just wanted someplace close to hotel. nerally unfriendly staff that fit the old New Yorker stereotype. Food was nothing to write home about. This was lunch so I don't know if the dinner is better.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
