Aunts birthday dinner

Took my aunt and a party of 8 here for dinner. Was highly recommended by our concierge. It is small. We were seated on the first floor. It was loud. Overall we all enjoyed our meal. Our server was wonderful. It was a very nice enjoyable meal. However, I wouldn't say it was a "unforgettable" meal... read more

We went to Bobo to judge for ourselves since ratings are inconsistent. The waitress came to our table to get our dinner order three times in the space of 15 minutes even though we told her we wanted to eat at a leisurely pace. We were early for our reservation and the restaurant was not crowded. We sat outside since... More

Cute, Funky restaurant with a stuck up maître d. The food whether it be fish or meat was cooked to perfection but everything else on the plate either did not blend well or was way too salty. The octopus dish was salty, the ceviche was left with too much citrus liquid making it overpowering. The salmon main was delicious but... More

My sister and I decided to walk around West Village around 7:30PM on a Friday. We stumbled upon bobo and although we didn't have a reservation, the manager/greeter was very nice and accommodating. We were seated in the upstairs dining area and it was quaint and beautiful. The service was fantastic. All of the waiters were very polite. I ordered... More

We went for brunch on Sunday and were not disappointed. The location was near where we were staying and the building/restaurant quaint. You went down a short flight of stairs to the reception and bar. We did not have a reservation and they were able to seat us promptly. We went upstairs to the second floor front of building which... This is a lovely restaurant in a converted town house. We sat on the second floor at a nicely spaced table so we were able to have a good conversation without having to yell. Service was very good, especially attentive wine service. The food was very tasty, especially the tuna tartare and mushroom ravioli. The restaurant is candle lit so... More

in June we held a baby shower at Bobo for my daughter. At the last minute we changed the reservation to Bobo's and the reservation team and staff made our event special! The drinks were creative and colorful. The variety of the menu selections accommodated all guests and provided special selections for the guest of honor. The outside deck was... More

The butter that came with the bread did not taste like butter, it seemed neither salted nor sweet, and seemed to me to have virtually no taste. The soup of the day was potato leak soup ($13), a soup that I usually like elsewhere, but here it did not resemble in any way the previous ones had elsewhere. Its texture... More

Bobo was a perfect choice for a birthday dinner for my BF. He requested French. This restaurant has a lovely vintage romantic vibe since it is housed in an Edwardian (I think) townhouse. You enter on the basement/bar level and we were greeted by two very friendly hosts. The bar looked cool, but we skipped it since they were able... More

Our party had a beautiful, delicious, relaxed dinner. The signature dishes (hamburger, tongue, cheek, and bourbon flights; duck) were excellent, but so were the others (scallop risotto) we sampled. Waitstaff were enthusiastic but not pushy, and very accommodating (we were 8 adults and one young child).

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
