Great place!

We have lunch here, I got the meatballs and spaghetti and my girlfriend had the Don Filipo's specialty pasta and let me tell you that was some of the best chicken pasta I've had. Definitely recommend this place. Very affordable too.

The pizza was good and not too expensive. Nice little place with seating and clean restrooms. I ordered pasta fagoli and some mini paninis as well.

We stopped at Don Filippo on Lexington near the 77th Street Station recently for a couple slices, finding their cheese pizza to be ok. Crust was quite hard, making the pizza difficult to bite through and chew. This distracted from what otherwise seemed like rather good slices of cheese pizza. Just a few bucks each, so generally affordable for what... More

They always have a hot pie so it is quick and really easy to down a slice and keep moving. I am spoiled that my timing always works that the Pepperoni is just coming out of the oven when I arrive - so it is my pie of choice. You can sit at a table and have service or pick... More

Extremely good pizza and very affordable. I ate a slice of pepperoni pizza and a slice of mozzarella cheese pizza. Both where very good tasting and well made. Much better than the best I've tried home in Sweden. If you're at the MET museum I would recommend the 10 minute walk to this restaurant after the visit. It's very frugal... More

We went to Don Filippo after a long visit to Metropolitan Museum, and though we were late to eat, we had no problem. Slices of pizza are amazing and cheap, and we also ordered pasta, great too!

Had a pizza lunch. They technically have table service, but it was too hectic during the lunch rush to notice. Once we sat down and started eating, all was well. Prices were appropriate.

While walking down Lexington Ave. my son stopped us and said this place smells great. So we stopped inside, took one look at the pizza at the counter and were sold. We took a table in the back along with a few others. I had a square of the thin pepperoni which was crispy with a few slices of fresh... More

We have stopped here for a dinner after Metropolitan museum visit. We had two types of veal, beer and wine. All of them were tasty. Even the pizzas they brought as appetizers.

Had a great experience here with a high school choir group (15) after touring the MMOA. Staff was very friendly, pizza (BBQ chicken was awesome) and cheesecake was very good, service was wonderful. Great typical NYC experience!

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
