History in a cup.

It's the real deal. They make a fabulous, and big, egg cream that really hits the spot. If you're around E Village it is a definite must. I don't know how long they've been doing this, but it is wonderful to have this treat still here. It's not a restaurant it's a news stand.

Not sure if this is a restaurant or attraction as the egg creams are the only no packaged food available. They are delicious and properly made with Fox's syrup, also huge and bargain priced. Walked over a mile each way so surely used up the calories!

What did i like about Gem Spa? The egg creams, of course! This place is an East Village institution.

We had a smaller group for our tour so Cory added this experience to our time! The sign out front said Best Egg Creme in NYC, and having been the first we had and they weren't beat by any others, I have to concur. Small newstand type locale, making egg cremes as you order, so refreshing!!! Stop by if you... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
