what a feast!

We came for dinner and what amazing food! Room was a bit small, and got quite crowded...When the weather is nice, nothing beats walking around the meatpacking district, maybe even visit the newly-opened Whitney (which is 2, 3 blocks from Fatty Crab) and then dinner here! There is outdoor seating... read more

I came with a friend with a Groupon, having been here before a few years ago, knowing that the dishes were expensive, but it became apparent again that even with a Groupon, the meal was still very expensive and not worth it. We had the Malay fish fry, which came with three thin slices of fried fish on tamaki rice... More

Our third time here, the food is always great, especially the Java Mee and the fish fry, the only gripe is the cost of wine, which starts at $48 and seems out of step with the type of place and the menu. And we know the seafood is fresh because we saw it arrive still alive and kicking.

Absolutely loved the food and drinks here. Probably had the best pork ever and I've been lucky enough to experience several Michelin starred restaurants. The service is friendly and attentive and the margaritas are the bomb!

My wife had a groupon for Fatty Crab so we went (had been meaning to try it anyway). The service from the beginning till the end was sensational. The food was fantastic as well. We has steamed buns and garlic chips to start with. The Bok Choy was spicy and had the perfect crunchy bite. Our main was the chili... More

This is a down to earth restaurant in the village. It's quite small and cramped but it's well worth the effort for the small spicy burger starter and the beef main course.

We had to wait just a but didn't mind as we enjoyed the food. Although it is seems a bit steep at first, the chilli crab is pretty good - reminds me of my time studying abroad in Singapore.

I'm happy I got this deal off Gilt otherwise I'd never recommend this place to anyone. Usually I'd say the ambiance would suffice for the lack of creativity & flavor of the dishes but not this one. I could cook better than this. We ordered the mango and papaya salad and it was the saddest salad ever with once piece... More

Visited mid week, late afternoon. Ordered wonton mee, wasn't like any wonton soup I've had, no dumplings. Coke tasted watery too. It was quite expensive and it wasn't the nicest of interiors, service was prompt had a laid back vibe. Perhaps I should have tried their speciality instead.

Just walked in with no reservation on a Wednesday night. Seated immediately. The service was great and the food amazing! It is served family style. The pork buns were wonderful! Highly recommended. If you are going on a busy night (weekend) make a reservation. It is small. The only thing I can warn you about is the music. It is... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
