At first i was skeptical since i didn't understand how you can just eat empanadas for dinner... aren't they just an appetizer?! We ordered: - spicy chicken - chunks of chicken breast slowly cooked in mama's special picante sauce. oh, its special alright. bomb. - cheese and spinach - mozzarella with sauteed spinach - cheeseburger - round beef cooked in... Actually decided to try this place when we found it on a list of cheap kid friendly food near Rockefeller Center. It's actually a bit of a hike from Rockefeller Center. Went at night and would take issue (in ways) with it being "kid friendly". It is very very tiny. It was packed but a table opened pretty soon after... More

First of, the place is open 24/7 and it's a really small place. You must get the plantain chips with guacamole...or just the plantain chips by it self. Peep the name..EMPANADA Mama..so I only ordered empanada. I tried the Tuna Jalapeno which wasn't too fishy as you'd expect and had a nice hint of spice to it. Cuban had a... More

The wait staff was great and drinks were delicious, group of friends went to pig out on a bunch of different empanadas and they were all delicious. Would recommend

Small place that fills up quickly... But our waiter was super cute and sweet. We started off with the fresh plantains and guacamole which was wonderful, followed by an assortment of meat empanadas and then dessert empanadas as we sipped our happy hour margaritas. Small sizes, so order several of everything... but they're very affordable.

Affordable, yummy empanadas in every flavor combination one can imagine--including desserts. Plus, try the oxtail soup; it's comfort in a bowl!

Fantastic food and atmosphere, great service. Short wait for the table but to be expected, it's tiny!! Tried 8 empanadas between two (6 would have been more than enough!) and our fave was the spicy chicken!!!

A friend of mine recommended this place from the eatingwithziggy blog. It did not disappoint. We went late on a Friday evening and had a variety of empanadas. The beef, pernil and another with pork and peas were my favorite. Also a blackberry cocktail that was the drink of the day. It was crowded but we found a seatEverything was... More

I went on my own on a Fri evening quite early (6ish) and it was packed. They managed to seat me straight away outside, inbetween 2 couples who were chatty so all was cool. The inside seems to have a fantastic atmosphere. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I started off with a watermelon cocktail... More

I get lunch from them at least once a week and the consistency of their service and quality of their food is outstanding.
