Great place for a good time with friends, they offer a great variety of empanadas, salads, columbian food and sangria. My favorite is the spicy chicken and tuna jalapeño. The dessert empanadas are also delicious.

My husband is Colombian and we have a serious dirth of south american food where we live. When we travel, its nice to try Colombian food whenever possible Empanada mama was a delicious mix of traditional Colombian foods with new and interesting ingredients. The food was great! The tiny restaurant in Hell's kitchen was absolutely packed and it was stressful... More

We had a great dinner with friends - it was a small shop, so a bit crowded, but we came around 5 p.m. so we didn't have to wait long.

This place is tiny and I imagine can get very busy. However we went for brunch and it was quite quiet which was pleasant. The food tasted fresh and was very tasty. We had a selection on the breakfast empanadas and they were delicious. The service was impeccable and very friendly. No excuse not to go really! It's great value... More

A lot of creative empanadas to try and some of the best mojitos I have had in a while. All for a very reasonable price!

Ok, first of all make sure you have some level of self control before entering the premises. WHY because you will want to order at least 2 of each empanada on the menu... These folks have something for everyone. My favorite was stuffed with pork and stuff. Oh, and where can you find a good eatable in NYC for around... More

Empanada Mama was one of the culinary highlights of our family trip to NYC. The food, service and atmosphere was worth the wait making price irrelevant.

A must for any NYC visit! Always delicious, with a wide variety of choices, both savory and sweet. Only frustration is how small the place is, and how tight the seating.

Very good Empanadas. It takes about three to fill you up though. I was disappointed with the arepa. Mainly because I'm used to the ones from Miami. In Miami the arepas are soft, cheesy, and buttery. The one I had at Empanada Mama's was hard like toast. It was, however, filled with spicy chicken and cheese. See the pic. My... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
