Stick with the empanadas. Almost everyone we had was awesome. Wish they had got our order correct and labelled correctly so the I could accurately review individual empanada fillings, but for sure, the seafood, chocolate and fig and caramel were amazing

The place is small. Really small. If you have more than 4, good luck. Instead, get them to go. This place is not to be missed. Open 24/7

This place is a hidden gem! We were looking for some great late night eats. This hit the spot and then some!! I'd drive out to NYC just to visit this place, that's how delicious my meal was!! Best empanadas I've ever had!!

I am almost sad I only got one chance to eat in Empanada Mama during our recent trip to NYC. We lived near it but since we were out most of the time, we ended up in other areas of the city. We were so hungry when we ate here so instead of settling for empanadas, we ordered the special... More

This has by far the best empanadas in New York. The variety of empanadas here is vass and very tasty. There is no bad choice. Me and my wife ordered six different empanadas but the tastiest was the Mambo Italiano. Which has sweet Italian sausage, cheese, and red and green peppers. I probably could've eaten 7 of those (THE WERE... More

Nothing to complain about. The spicy chicken empanada is out of this world and the skirt steak is delish. They get busy around dinner time so I would suggest getting there early or putting your name on the list and shopping around some but don't stray too far because the wait isn't as long as they estimate usually. I will... More

My wife and I had read TripAdvisor and decided to try the food here. We tried a bit of everything. I had "la chicha" de mango which is a shake which can be water or milk based. It was terrific. We had empanadas as appetizers. We chose classical colombian empanadas which are corn meal based instead of flour. We had... More

So excited to have Empanada Mama right on the block where I rented an apt. It's always busy, so I did to go the first time around. The spicy chicken and raggaeton empanadas were fabulous - crispy, flavorful dough with very distinctive and different fillings. The side salad was also a step above with lots of fresh veggies and a... More

This was my first visit to Empanada Mama and it exceeded my expectations. The menu was filled with a variety of creative options for empanadas which were reasonably priced for $3-$5. The empanadas are on the small side, but filling and very flavorful. The menu also has heartier plates for people who may be more hungry- salads, rice dishes, etc.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
