This is just across the road from the Rockefeller Center and gives the impression that it is there to catch the unwary. Maybe we were lucky but we arrived on the Friday evening of Memorial Weekend and got a table for two outside without booking. The ambience is great, with some fascinating art deco reliefs on the wall above you.... More

Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. I have always eaten outside here, though the inside of the restaurant looks very nice, especially for a brasserie. The people watching on a nice afternoon is second to none, a steady stream of humanity goes by. The food is always good, I had the steak tartar, entre portion. It was very good. I washed it down with a bottle... More

Bob, Thank you so much for the kind words, we were very happy to hear that Brasserie Ruhlmman left such a lasting impression on you. We would have to agree that the people watching on our patio is some of the best you can do; Rockefeller Center is truly one of the main nervous systems of New York City .... More

Situated across Rockefeller Plaza, Brasserie Ruhlmann offers both outside terrace seating (during summer months) as well as inside. We were there for lunch with prior reservation (recommended). After 12.30 hardly any seating is available anymore, Great luncheon choices. We tried cold tomato soup, smoked salmon tartine and also the moules mariniere. Quite big dishes with very tasty and excellent food.... More

Met friends for drinks and appetizers and decided to stay for dinner, in part based on the excellence of the appetizer we shared, the service, and the comfort of the location. The day was perfect and we sat outside. The tables are set back far enough from the street that we didn't get the fumes of the traffic mixed in... More

I enojyed this restaurants location across from Rockafellar. I had the braised beef and it was absolutely delicious. The waiter was so attentive and filled my water glass each time it was empty... which was a lot! I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant.

This is a very touristy venue. It is the perfect location especially when sitting outside where you can people watch. Would I recommend this restaurant? The food was ok, service was great, but what I was disappointed with is, we asked for sparkling water and out comes a very used bottle with basically no label and pretty flat water. So... More

During our NYC visits, we've had perfect experiences at Brasserie Ruhlmann. During our first visit outside under umbrella's during a light rain, the staff was gracious and welcoming and we had a fabulous experience. This led to our latest visit, a business lunch last week I reserved for us to dine with my husband's colleagues. In fact, he has followed... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
