Momofuku Ko - Must Go!

So I'm in my last two months of living in New York and I'm revisiting my favourite destination dining restaurants one last time. I really liked the reincarnation of Ko at Extra Place. The space is so much bigger and feels a bit more grown up. The cold storage units at the back with the... read more

Go to KO you want an assortment of non listed waitress described tasting menu dishes ( some unusual none spectacular ) paired with several incompatible some undrinkable sherries, two very good white wine pairings and thank goodness a champagne. The wait staff is knowledgeable and well timed. The setting is much more luxurious industrial chic and spacious than the old... More

Don't get me wrong, those who have never been to the original Ko, may rate this a 4, but when comparing the ambience, surroundings, the music and even the deliciousness of the food, the original Ko wins hands down. The new premises look expensive and, of course, the revised menu price mirrors that. I can't fault them for what they... More

The service is great, the room is beautiful, but the food/wine isn't worth the money. We went to another michelan star, 2, restaurant in New York which was 50% less and 50% more special. It was very different good, Scandinavian, but a lot more "special". Seibo in Sydney gives a lot more for the investment in the experience that is... More

I think the title sums it up. Perhaps the best dining experience I have had ever. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The best part however was the staff. Knowledgable. Approachable and not the least bit pretentious. Each course and each wine was explained and all my questioned answered. Perfection!

The food is incredible - some of the dishes are the best we've eaten, with execution and presentation perfect. You sit at the bar unless you're a group of four or more, which is fun because you can watch the kitchen work but not very intimate or private as you're perched on high stools in a well-lit kitchen zone. Favourite... More

OK, the music is definitely more rock, an energy that's echoed in the kitchen if you pay close attention. But the restaurant embodies a jazzy feel with its warmth, spirited staff, and custom artwork. The food is phenomenal. Sumptuous truly describes the smooth, silky dishes from the sunchoke puree served with venison tartare (perfect earthy pairing) to the BEST MASHED... More

Amazing food, great atmosphere. We logged in prior to our trip ( reservation system is a bit complex) but found nothing available. I checked the day before our arrival and an early reservation became available. If you want a giant meal( try keens) this is not the place. If you want an exquisite food experience with staff that are extremely... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
