We enjoyed the garden room on a lovely spring night. A private oasis, away from the City noise on a Friday night. Service was excellent. You get a bottle of water on your table to refill when you want. Our meal was perfect - - - french onion soup, calamari, escargot, spinach salad and creme brule, with fried Oreos compliments... We flew in from the UK to have our dream wedding in NYC, our whole trip was full of hiccups and stumbling blocks, however that all stopped when we stepped through the door of this amazing venue! Planning a wedding is hard work at the best of times, let alone from another country. After my first venue fell through I... More

My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Tree Bistro. I had the hamburger with the truffle fries and my husband had the duck special. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable . Will definitely be back.

My daughter had treated me to a trip to New York - for my 50th birthday - We arrived in NYC early evening and despite the snow when we landed we managed to get to our hotel in NYC. We had booked the Tree Bistro online 3 days before our trip thanks to the advice on trip advisor. We used... More

I still don't know quite how I found this restaurant, but I am so glad I did! I bought tickets to see A Month in the Country at the Classic Stage Company, and was trying to find a restaurant nearby with good food that had a reservation open. After trying a few different sites, I stumbled across The Tree Bistro,... More

Went back last night to this unbelievable little gem. Another fantastic culinary experience. You walk in and are greeted with the warmest and most sincere greeting and service you'll ever get in a restaurant in new York. Went there with work colleagues and ended up staying forever, again. The winners last night were the warm salad, the escargot, the Duck,... More

I finally tried Tree the other night, having attempted it a few times before only to find it packed to the rafters. It's a very small place with very good food... hence the full tables on most nights. But we wandered in on a recent snowy Tuesday and were so impressed by the food, service, atmosphere and prices that we... More

Tree has a great neighborhood bistro feel that wows you with everything. The food was amazing of course, you don't get to 116 out of 11,875 on trip advisor for NYC with bad food. My wife had the seafood linguine and I had the NY Strip. Both were amazing. What made our night was the details from great service, to... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
