Fat Cat Music is always a safe bet for having a good time. I've been here on Dates, solo, or just a casual friend hangout. The place usually has a $3 cover to get in, a bargain for Manhattan. What you get for $3 is the best local gigs on any given night. They usually stick to Jazz music and... More

This place is super cool! Big band playing, ping pong, pool. Loved it! Would be great if they offered food Also, because I'm obsessed with lighting, the only thing I'd change is the fluro lighting I know it's cheaper but it just doesn't look as warm, even if dimmed Really great venue though and great staff

What a great place, we waiting nearly two hours to play pool and never actually played in the end. However the atmosphere and the live music was amazing! Blues and Gospel - a great friday night. Just a shame it was too busy to actually play pool!

My wife and I were visiting our children and daughter-in-law in Manhattan for a few days this past end of the February 2015 month. They took us to Fat Cat for an afternoon of drinking beer and playing ping-pong. The venue is perfect for a relaxed and fun time to spend with family. While we didn't really eat any meal... More

Went here after a few friends had mentioned it, and was almost tempted to not stand in the queue in the freezing cold to get in. I'm very glad I did though. Jazz music was amazing, and the place had such a great atmosphere with every game you can think of scattered around. Great night out, but get there early... More

Cold beer, table tennis players waiting for chalengers. Snookers tables to drunks and some times live music. Enjoy NYC way of life

I came here on a Saturday night to do battle with a friend in table tennis as she had claimed for the past 6 months that she could defeat me. I don't recall if the cover charge was $3 or $5 but it wasn't much. The bar is rammed on a Saturday night so it was difficult to find a... More

The cover on a Tuesday night was $3. We got there around 11 and there was a fantastic Latin band with a horn section surrounded by couches for listeners. I wished we had gotten there sooner so I could have listened to the band more. The shuffle board tables were available, the pool tables looked pretty full. The decor is... More

An UN-assuming front entry leads you down the stairs and into the mega-plex that is Fat Cat. Pool tables, ping pong tables, scrabble, and folks sitting around playing cards all to the sound of jazz and throngs of young partying away the night. Cheap entry. Cheap drinks.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
