Classic Irish Pub in Times Square

This is your classic Irish pub experience right in the heart of Times Square. A great choice for a chilled-out dinner and drinks. Grab a booth with a small group of friends and you're set for a fun evening. Can be a little bit noisy and too big for a solo dinner. Not the classiest of venues - there... read more

I had the Chicken Pot Pie and it was beautiful, it appears to be a staple in many of these pubs. I then had the New York Cheesecake - yummy, all followed down by a beautiful cider - Angry Orchard - this was impressive and very nice. Wish I had gone back here to try another meal but there is... Situated handily by a tube station, this pub was one of the ,sin boozers I visited regularly when in New York before Xmas, staff were fantastic and very helpful not just with drinks but with local knowledge and experience and advice. Nice atmosphere in here, was fairly quiet in the day and very busy at night, often had sports on... More

Hands-on owner Emmett has cloned the original O' Lunney's and has done a superb job. In the heart of the theater district, this bar and grill appeals to a vast audience: the casual eater, business lunch meetings, pre-theater dinner; sports fans, the beer drinker (with two bars) and the budget conscious diner We needed a fast dinner last week (in... We went to Emmett O'Lunney's Irish Pub at the same address on 50th as the Harmony View Bar and Grill. We selected the place for a between performances early dinner on a Sunday. When making the reservation I talked with Emmett himself and was promised a complimentary dessert - and we did have dessert on the house. The place was... More

18 April 2015 Light dinner before a show Good location close to a lot of theaters Reasonable - not NYC style - prices. Sally had a Nachos plate which could have fed a crowd of four. Huge and a good value. I had the chicken special. The Asparagus was good, the chicken breast, boneless was dry and tough. It could... More

I went with five friends for dinner before a show. The place was loud and crowded but in a fun way. As we were being shown to our table the owner or manager came over and introduced himself . ...his name is Emmett. He came back several times to check on us. The burgers were good and my shepherds pie... More

Stopped off here for a beer and a bite to eat. Clearly our order wasn't worth bothering with because our food never arrived. Decided to leave after an hour waiting. Staff couldn't have cared less and ignored us on our way out. Poor for NYC. Avoid if you want food!

Not sure what qualifies this as an Irish bar? The food was not what I would call typically Irish (but then I am not sure what is), I had bangers and mash whihc consisted of lumpy mash and bangers that were small sausages from the cheap end of the scale. I get better sausage at my local butchers. For the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
