Quality Meats was good, but a few problems keep it from being excellent. Good: The wine list is extensive and not outrageously marked up. I'd recommend gambling with the "Sommelier's List" for $75. We ended up getting a nice bottle that would have been around $200 on their menu. Nice alternative to the old-fashion white tablecloth joints. The meat was... More

Friends picked this place because I luv a great steak, coming from the outback beef Capitol of Australia in Rockhampton, QLD. After a few btls of bubbles down stairs we were escorted upstairs to our table surrounded by the remnants of a butcher shop with real life size meat hooks etc. the lighting was amazing and then we started on... Our hotel recommended this place and they were spot on! Great establishment. I've dined at many of the best steakhouses in New York and Quality Meats ranks among the top. Unlike most other steak joints in NYC, that are characterized by boisterous and often obnoxiously loud environments populated by overgrown frat bros, this place has a pretty classy ambiance to... I have had better meals here and was disappointed with this experience. This time my husband and I were there to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. The noise level is awful and it seems to be an overhyped trendy place now. The waiter was personable although a bit pretentious and we felt that the quality of filets was subpar, especially... More

Have been here twice and I'm wowed by the food and atmosphere every time. Although the second time we were seated on the second floor all the way in the back, in a room that seamed like it was seating too many people. Despite this, there are so many delicious menu items, it's a challenge to decide every time. The... More

After a long day exploring New York we popped into Quality Meats, and after a short wait for a table we had the Porterhouse Steak to share.. It was fantastic.. We would definatly go back

I confess that as an Australian I am spoiled. We have excellent steak restaurants but don't see the need to get orgasmic about syrupy sweet steak sauces as seems to be the way here. Sure the steak was good - well aged but a little underdone. My medium rare was rare. My wife's well done aged rib eye was medium... More

Pricey but good quality with excellent service. Nice dining area in a pleasant part of town. Would go back.

We ate here based on a friend'a recommendation and were thrilled. Appetisers were delicious & steaks magnificent. The food was something very special & plentiful! (Unless you're very hungry appetisers are really not needed). The atmosphere was terrific with a real buzz about the place but no elitist feel. The maître'd service was fine but the bar team really excellent.... More

This place is very upbeat and energetic as opposed to some of the old stuffy steak houses around town. Food is better than average...though not great. Fish is fresh and overall portions are OK, though not as large as typical steakhouses are.
