We dined here on a Friday night and were seated in a back corner by the kitchen. The appetizer (flatbread) was as small as a Triscuit and was covered in what looked like clover from the garden. After taking in a Saturday ballet matinee at Lincoln Center, we headed for Whym's. It was 4:30pm when we arrived and we were told that the restaurant didn't open until 5 (I guess we hit the brunch/dinner cusp). These people take their dinner times seriously! We were attended to promptly(restaurant not busy at the time) by a friendly efficient waiter who was into upsell(hey this is NY) but not overkill. We only had mains which came to order and we enjoyed the meal . I ordered 3 wines by the glass an Australian Shiraz and 2 Argentinian Malbecs at $10ea more
Good services, nice food. Starter came too quickly (still having aperitif) and latte was lousy although espresso on the other hand was ok. Would go there again! more
Arrived on a Fri night with a res for 6pm. The place was half full and packed when we left. Loved the ambience. Very simple, rustic and attractive. I had the chicken pot pie and an arugula salad. Loved the salad. The pot pie was very tasty but the sauce was much thicker than I expected. Almost mashed potato consistency.... more
We ate lunch at WHYM with a friend of mine during our stay in New York. It has a very modern style decor and is comfortable and cozy. The food was great--loved the jambalaya!--but our service was even better. On 9th Avenue between 57th and 58th streets. Absolutely recommend and will return if we ever get back to NYC. more
Nice cozy restaurant with great food, nice wine selection and attentive wait staff. We enjoyed our pre-theater dining experience and will return again the next time we are in New York. more
