Whenever I have chance to come K town for lunch, Kunjip is always my 1st choice if I can there before 12pm. Food is delicious and much cheaper than other Korean restaurants on 32nd street. They give us free appetizer since I am a regular customer I guess? Whatever you order, it will like a full course menu. After your... More

We got to Kunjip before the lunch rush, and watched the line stretch out the door. Mostly Korean customers who know where to find good home style dishes at reasonable prices. Pretty standard fare, with a few surprises, like the Kong Bi Ji soup--spicy broth based on ground soybeans. Service is friendly, efficient and surprisingly patient, given how crowded the... More

Very straightforward and no frills. You order off the menu, they serve you the side dishes. They are very attentive and quick to fill up your glass of water. They smile and are polite. Food was good and I'll definitely return for my next Korean meal craving.

This is the place to go for authentic Korean in NYC. It's in Koreatown, a small street in Manhattan that's populated with Korean markets and such. My family and I must have been in and out of Kunjip in about 15-20 minutes because they were so fast. The restaurant is packed, so don't be intimidated. After we were seated and... More

Korean food is another hype in NYC and there may be various good reasons for that: it seems to be low in fat and calories, full of flavour and the Korean national dish, Kimchi (fermented cabbage), must be healthy to the bone and spicy in the best sense of the word. However, my experience at Kunjip was a mixed one.... More

We went to Kunjip for lunch. We ordered the BBQ combo, seafood pancake, and two other dishes... yet, the food kept coming. Our waiter kept saying that the kitchen wanted us to try this dish and that dish. Of course, we were full when we left the restaurant. It was an excellent experience, and if I come back to NY,... This is my favorite restaruant in NYC. The Soups are all amazing as are the casseroles. The BBQ isn't bad either. I love the service, only problem is the wait!

I wandered into this place for lunch and had just a 10 minute wait. Since I was alone, they put me with another girl since it was busy. The food was pretty cheap for the amount you get. I had a bibimbap and it came with lots of great side dishes. The bibimbap itself wasn't the yummiest I've had...it would... More

...But the food makes it worth it. You'll have to see for yourself on the wait. Go with good spirits and find comedian in it. Once you're seated, you're food is there and it's consistently delicious - every thing on the menu. If you have a birthday, they'll turn the restaurant into a near disco for you. Love the staff.

In my one time experience with this restaurant, the food was good, but the service was beyond rude. After finishing the meal, we were served the check without us asking for it; We were not ready yet to leave, so after 10 minutes, the staff came by a few times to hurry us to actually pay and leave. When we... More
