Had dinner this evening at Aburiya Kinnosuke. While the food is not bad, the atmosphere was incredibly annoying. We found ourselves seated under a speaker and they play jazz music at top volume throughout the meal. Personally, I can't stand jazz, so maybe if you are entranced with the idea of eating a Japanese meal at a jazz concert in... More

I was greated really friendly and got a seat at the counter where the waiter immediately took care of me. I ordered a several different things (see photos) and I was very happy with all of them: the presentation of the sake was really very appealing, the homemade tofu was silky and together with the 3 kinds of salt just... Hotel was next to this restaurant so decided to try it based on good reviews. Homemade tofu is absolutely tasty and smooth. Rice with small young sardines is very unique, full of flavor of the sea on top of a nice bed of steamed (a bit sticky) rice. Grilled salmon collar is fresh and thus enjoyable. The highlight of the... More

We ate here in early April. It was a business dinner. Its a traditional Japanese robatayaki style restaurant. The service was super fast and it felt like we were being pushed out and constantly asked if there was anything else we wanted. We ordered the sashimi platter and I did notice that one of the fishes smelled a bit off.... More

Four of us had the $60.00 per person chef's choice. it was one of those surprising meals that started with authentic Tofu, then went to sashimi (featuring uni) over to grilled vegetables, asparagus with chicken, finally to a rice dish that was very tasty indeed! Green tea ice cream with sweet bean paste finished the meal. I don't believe the... More

We were here for dinner and for lunch over a period of six months and enjoyed both experiences. It is a small quaint place that almost always requires reservations for dinner. We had the omakase for dinner. You dictate how much $ you want to spend. Minimum is $60. We went with $75 and it was plenty of food. Some... More

Is not your typical Japanese Restaurant. The food is great and the service fantastic. There is no sushi, but they have great sashimi. My recommendations from the menu are: Salmon Collar, Hamachi Sashimi, Asparagus Wrapped in chicken and Shabu Shabu. The only downside are the desserts. They have a great Sake menu.

This is scarily similar to the very best restaurants in Japan. The vibe, the attitude, the ambiance and (most essentially) the food. Robata, tempura, sushi, stews - everything excellent. The tasting menu allows the kitchen to fly in whatever direction their inclination and your wallet permit (you price the option). Observation suggests that the tasting courses are not often the... I love my local Japanese steak house. The tempura veggies, hibachi grill where my meal is made before my very eyes and a side of California rolls. Take this image, and toss it aside. Aburiya Kinnosuke is nothing like this. It's your upgrade! One step closer to real Japanese food. In NYC for a business meeting, I wanted a more... More
