Came here for a Sunday brunch, and while I thought the food was pretty good, I couldn't stand the loud DJ. Everyone in the restaurant had to scream to communicate with the waiters, and the other people at their table. Because of the noise I would never come back, and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It was two hours... More

Loud, local tequila joint with amazing tacos and very good guacamole. (As for the guac a bit on the spciy side, otherwise it can be bland.) Drinks are not hcepa but the tacos are reasonable, and other good more complex dishes, like the mole' make this worth a visit. Service can be slow and uncaring, but still wortyh the visit.

I had dinner here with my wife. We got two tacos, nachos with guacamole made on the spot by the chef, two main course and three bottled beers. 85 dollars excluding tips. Staff was friendly, caring and helpful in the choice of the dishes, which were all very good. Mexican beers were good too. We ate inside due to the... More

I like to sit at the bar here because the bartenders are generally more interested in their job than the aloof waitstaff. The hostesses are in la-la land too. However, the cocktails and selection of tequilas are very good and I like the Coronitas. Too bad the bar stools are a killer on the behind! Keep the food choices simple... More

This is not a quiet place (poor acoustics) but with the crowded bar sampling their regular and exotic frozen margaritas (think Blood Orange) and the music in the background, this makes it a fun place after work during the week. The food is pretty good and the portion siZe is good. Prices are edging on the high side. the chips... More

Finally! It’s so hard to find a place with good Mexican. A bit pricey but really good. The guacamole needed salt. Looked like homemade tortilla chips. I ordered the chicken fajitas, they were really good. But….no cheese? It was really flavorful so it didn’t need it. The drinks were “eh” the mojito was terrible.

This place is crowded during happy hour. There is a very busy bar scene, especially in the warm weather months when there is outdoor seating. The food is good, too. I particularly like the shrimp taco (the main reason I keep going back). The drinks are well-made. I wish they had more of a beer selection, though. Overall, I recommend... More

Vamos has inventive Mexican cuisine and is a great addition to the restaurant starved Stuy Town area. Everything I've tried here has been very good. Cocktails are really good as well. Only criticism is the noise level can get so LOUD you can't have a conversation. So I prefer to either order in from here, or come for lunch when... More
