Situated in a small basement off 74th west, could be easy to miss except for the long queue. Arrive before 1pm to sample the delicious looking pizzas otherwise risk missing out, due to popularity. Cookies incredible.

Wow! We love finding good bakeries and this is one of the best. We bought several items and all were incredible. Hidden away below street level on West 74th, just east of Amsterdam, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but great stuff. There's really no seating inside, so take it to go. We walked over to Central Park.... More

Levain Bakery was on my bucket list for months. God, had I only come here earlier!! The cookies are so delicious! And although they are 4 Dollars a piece it is totally worth the price because they are so rich you can only have a few bites at once and they will last a bit. Talking about rich: If you... More

The chocolate chip and double chocolate chip cookies are heaven! We visited the Upper West Side store, and now I would give anything to find cookies like them here at home. Not only were the cookies (and the cinnamon raisin scones) amazing, the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. The manager even made my husband a hot chocolate when... More

I had read about this bakery and how fabulous the cookies were and had planned to visit it but ended up stumbling across it on a walk back from the Natural History museum. What I would say is the basement level bakery has a modest front for what wonderful goodies lay within!! Luckily I got there before queuing started and... More
