But, it didn't do anything for me. I had the chocolate chocolate chip and it was decent but nothing special. To be quite honest, I could have walked to the supermarket and got a box of Entenmann's and I would have been happier. There was a long line outside but that was just because it is such a small place.... More

I went there with a friend of mine from Korea who told me that she had read that there was a cookie which you had to try before dying. They are tasty, massive, and cheap! You can pass by when you are tired of cycling through Central Park or visiting the museums.

Who know an almost 1lb cookie lump could be so amazing! The outside has just the right amount of crunch while the inside has that melt in your mouth feel. If you are there as they come out of the oven and still warm, the yumminess goes up exponentially! The chocolate chocolate chip is to die for!!!

I had the chocolate chip cooke. It was huge, freshly baked and worth the extra run to burn off the calories. Next time i'll have to try some of the other things.

Not sure I'd rate a bakery as the number 1 restaurant in NYC. But, seeing as it was, i just had to try the cookies. I timed it just right that there were only about 5 people in front of me. The steps felt cramped but i did not feel hurried by the servers. I contemplated sitting on the bench... More

Words can't not describe how good the cookies are from here!! Made two trips to Levain Bakery. Everyone should stop by and check out the chocolate chip and walnut cookies.

We strolled thru Central Park then headed toward the bakery based on a friends recommendation. The location is like being in old NYC with a few steps down in to Nirvana. The dark chocolate cookie was outrageously delicious. The customer service was equally outstanding! A must stop from now on...worth the walk :)

Levain is definitely not a restaurant but is definitely amazing. The cookies are more cookie-scones than regular cookies and are always soft and warm. The milk you can get alongside the cookies at Levain is absolutely essential. A wonderful place, I go frequently with friends after-school. I highly highly recommend Levain for everyone. Just don't take our spot on the... More

It is well worth the schlep uptown for these destination cookies. Lines can be long - go off hours to avoid it.
