Top Chef's inaugural winner, Harold Dieterle, opened this restaurant a few years ago, focusing on American Nouveau -- is Perilla, which is the formal name for the tangy, mint-related herb the Japanese call shiso. One of the best restaurants with fine food exquisitely prepared. Always a course or two that is not seen at other places. Service excelelnt. Have been here many times. Never disappointed!

A small Greenwich Village neighborhood restaurant opened by Top Chef season one winner, Harold Dieterle in 2007. The food plays off Asian flavors and is exquisitely prepared. We came with a large eclectic crowd and everyone loved their selection of drinks and food. The salads and appetizers were a bit expensive, but worth it. A surprise quaint appetizer from the chef was a lovely touch. Would definitely go back!
