Excellent dinner

Our second visit in 8 years and the food was just as excellent as our first visit. As a top chef winner he had held his standards high. Definitely go back and highly recommend this restaurant.

We had reserved a table for two some weeks prior to our NYC visit. When we arrived, we were shown to a table at the far end of the narrow restaurant, with a great view through the kitchen door. We were also treated to loud radio music being played for the kitchen staff. So much for our romantic dinner. The... More

Used to love the restaurant; with great bar, but it seems that the food has declined or at least moved to the average part of the bell curve. Good for drinks.

Perilla doesn't get bogged down chasing trends -- the food is simply super-fresh, high quality, cooked to perfection, and served with just the right balance between conviviality and respect for privacy. Order the chocolate souffle dessert when you place your entree order, as it takes time -- and it's worth it.

My daughter and I met for dinner. We both had a lovely cocktail of grapefruit juice, I think champagne and gin. Most refreshing. We excellent service. I had a salad that I shared with my daughter and the salmon entree over beans. The salmon was cooked to perfection, but the combination of salmon and I think it was fava beans... More

The whole staff was very friendly, attentive and professional. I was on crutches and the staff found a table to accommodate me and our 3 guests. Each of the dishes we ordered was beautifully presented and had a unique combinations of flavors. The chocolate souffle was a perfect ending to our meal.

Perilla really earned their five stars. They made writing this easy The vibe of the place is casual, welcoming and friendly but still professional in a laid back way. The food was really, really terrific and and for Manhattan the cost was a welcome break from the usual break the bank prices - not that it was cheap with mains... More

Had my first outing at Perilla last night and had what I call a "memorable" meal. One of the challenges in NY for the restaurants is to serve you something that is unique and that you will remember. From the staff to the music to the food, it was a meal that I will remember. We started with the Creole... More

I made reservations more than a week in advance due to the Restaurant Week surge. The three course menu had a poultry, fish, and vegetarian option. I enjoyed the Gumbo (excellent), Hake (excellent), and Angel Food cake (mediocre-good). If they offer the chocolate souffle for dessert, make sure to order it. It was excellent. The bar has an excellent selection... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
